Crossing the Island of Elba by MTB: this is the GPE route

GPE: Grande Pedalata Elbana. Tested and approved by Elba MTB. The route avoids the wildest trails on the island (and non-cyclable ones), typical of the GTE (Grande Traversata Elbana) trekking version.

100km for 2500m of elevation gain

The crossing of the Island of Elba by MTB along cycle paths (S2 maximum S3) made by Elba MTB: 100km for a difference in altitude of 2500m starting from Cavo and finishing in Sant'Andrea (also a more enduro version with the help of Shuttle is proposed: theElba Super Trail).

La GTE version it is not suitable for Bike use: too many stretches of uphill portage (even in the case of e-bikes and expert bikers) and difficult descents, which often do not have the flow characteristics that a single-trail must have to be appreciated by the user bikes.
