The ASD Longone Bike announces, with great regret, that the Conquistadores Cup in 2023 will not be there!
As with all things, there is a beginning and an end, and that of the Conquistadores Cup has also arrived, which, after seven editions, it abandons.
There were seven editions full of satisfactions, but with many sacrifices. The ASD Longone Bike had managed to bring the Porto Azzurro event to the top, in 2022 the race was a National test, indicative for the selections of the Azzurra selection for the European Marathon championships and was seen dedicating a summary of thirty minutes on RaiSport , all of this was very rewarding, but at this point a decision had to be made.
Maintaining the level reached, or growing further, would require a great deal of effort, with a profusion of energy and funds that at this moment it is not possible to put in place.
Sergio Concu and Marco Galletti, the two main promoters, real motors of ASD Longone Bike, have, in spite of themselves, had to make a decision. A difficult decision, but with great seriousness they preferred to say "enough" and leave the memory of a great event, rather than resize everything and take steps back.
The ASD Longone Bike greets and thanks all those who in these seven years have contributed to the successes achieved, and sends a hug to all the bikers who have shown great affection for the Conquistadores Cup, a race that has made us discover a magical, rich territory of history, with unique panoramic passages in a naturalistic context that offers so much to those who practice mountain biking.
