In the Men's Open category (120,8 km), the Bardiani-CSF-Faizané immediately gave a strong pace to the race, until Samuel Zoccarato he started alone after about 40 km of the race, gaining an important advantage and also resisting the cramps in the final. Behind him, Luke Cibrario (Beltrami TSA Tre Colli) e Sacha Modolo (Bardiani-CSF-Faizané) completed the podium.
In the women's Open race (89 km), Barbara Guarischi she imposed herself on the sprint up Letizia Borghesi, with Clare Teocchi third classified at 27 ”.
Sunday 18 September were awarded a total of 6 Italian titles, also considering the 4 jerseys for the Masters, won by Matteo Valsecchi (Amateurs Band 1), Massimo Folcarelli (Band 2), Massimo Rizzo (Band 3) and Chiara Ciuffini (Amateurs Women).
The Italian Gravel concluded a weekend entirely dedicated to a rapidly expanding discipline after the FAR Gravel Cannondale Alé, a cycling event that took place on Saturday 17 September for the fifth consecutive year.
The organization of the Italian Gravel Championships was handled by ExtraGiro.
For ExtraGiro, after relaunching the U23 Giro d'Italia, restarted Italian cycling in 2020 by applying anti-covid protocols for the first time, it was the umpteenth opportunity to celebrate new sporting titles, after having organized the Road World Championships 2020 in Imola, i Italian Elite Men Road Championships 2021 in Imola, i Italian Time Trial Championships Men and Women 2021 in Faenza and Italian Elite Women Road Championships 2022 in Medolla.
