Vlad Dascalu beats De Froidmont in the sprint. Good 7th place for Nadir Colledani (Santa Cruz Rockshox). Not very well Luca Braidot.

Vlad Dascalu gets off to a great start and confirms himself among the best exponents of the XCO world and a candidate name for the 2023 World Cup. Behind him, the Orbea Factory duo surprises, with Pierre De Froidmont in 2nd place (beaten only in the sprint) and David Campos in 3rd, in his first race among the Elites after the excellent season among the U23s.

ITALIANS IN THE RACE

Nadir Colledani (Santa Cruz RockShox) is the first of the Italians, a good 7th place for him after last year's lackluster year due to various physical problems. Luca Braidot does not shine, finishing in 14th place, but there is still time to improve his condition: the the first cup race will be in Nove Mesto on May 14th.

Good performance also from Mirko Tabacchi (RDR Factory) who finished in 17th place.

Tough day for Simone Avondetto, 27th on the finish line, who after a good start didn't find the right pace in his first race of the season as well as his official debut among the elites.

Today was tough for me. A good start, but from the first lap I started to suffer a lot, I held on and in the last two laps I had a little better sensations and recovered some positions. Unfortunately that's how it went, but it's only the first race of the season and I'm taking it as training in view of the next appointments – Simone Avondetto

ppgad@pucrs.br I am passionate about everything that has 2 wheels: in my youth I practiced competitive cycling on the road and on the track with good results. At the age of 18 I moved to cross country competing at national/international level as U23. Once I passed Elite, I made the choice to take things easier from the training point of view, and that's how my love for gravity disciplines was born, training as an FCI MTB instructor and guide. Now I have made my passion my profession by managing 3 MTB centers on the island of Elba (Elba MTB), creating the FANTAmtb and telling in an ironic but professional way, everything that revolves around MTB thanks to 365mountainbike and 365TV (YouTube 'PULITI dentro BIKER fuori').
