The second round of the Internazionali d'Italia Series reserved for the Women's Open category speaks Swiss. The victory at Capoliveri Legend XCO was Nicole Koller with the Swiss national team jersey, taking advantage of the work done in training in the last few days right on the paths of the Island of Elba.

In fact, right from the first laps, the girls of coach Edmund Telser immediately became protagonists, with Koller, Sina Frei and Linda Indergand dictating the pace together with the leader of the general Martina Berta and Giada Specia. On the third lap, the Aosta Valley rider of the Santa Cruz-FSA Team increased the pace by taking Nicole Koller away, while behind Sina Frei and Giada Specia they tried to keep up.
The two continued together until the last lap when the Swiss launched the decisive attack in the toughest uphill stretch. At that point, it was difficult for Martina Berta to keep up with the winner, who crossed the finish line with an advantage of 24”.
He reassembled up to the third position of the podium, however, Giada Specia (Wilier-Pirelli) who finished 36” from the winner by overtaking Sina Frei (+51”). Fifth place for Linda Indegrand (+1'17”).
“I'm moved by this victory, it's been a long time since I won and it happens at the end of a demanding race, in which it was difficult to break Martina Berta's resistance – says Nicole Koller -. I gained a bit of a gap and tried to keep it until the finish line. I think that despite today's change in conditions, the training camp on Elba over the last few days has helped me a lot”.
“I'm very happy with how it went, beyond the result. It was one of the best races I've done at the beginning of the season. Very tight right up to the end, with the Swiss going very fast”, commented Martina Berta, who keeps the leader's jersey in the general of the Internazionale d'Italia Series.
