In recent years a lot has been said about Gravel - defining, interpreting, pointing the finger about what it "is" or "should be". One thing is certain: Gravel is now a fully established discipline. And it's here to stay.

In 2018 we launched the Grail - the bike that applied Canyon's bold approach to this new world. With its iconic aesthetic and revolutionary Double Decker Bar design, its impact was huge and immediate. Its popularity is based on this and other concrete factors - light, capable, efficient, fast; the Grail has set a new benchmark in terms of performance on mixed dirt and asphalt terrain.
So why another Gravel platform? The answer is simple: because for the huge variety of cyclists, styles and terrains that gravel includes, there is no single gravel bike that can encompass them all. Just like with mountain biking, it's all about having the right horse for the right route. That's why at Canyon, we no longer see Gravel as a single product, but as a whole world. From fast and capable all-road bikes to XC mountain bikes - we believe a full range of bikes is needed to fully satisfy every gravel rider. We call it Gravel Spectrum.
Building on this foundation, we created the Grizl to answer a simple question: how could we expand our Gravel Spectrum to cover more styles for more riders? One aspect we have identified is modularity, giving riders the ability to customize their setup based on how they ride. Whether it's for bikepacking, racing or everyday fun, we wanted to offer more people, more choices. We also identified the progression in Gravel to “underbiking” - riders with drop-bars adding increasingly technical terrain to their gravel routine. So, could we justify developing a second Gravel family to complement the Grail? Hell yes. And so we did.
The result is the Grizl: our take on a Gravel bike that does it all, goes everywhere, and is everything you need. Ready for unforgettable rides, from day trips to long bikepacking trips, designed with the functionality of a Swiss Army knife and with proven high-performance Canyon DNA. Fast on mixed terrain, capable on difficult tracks, ready for a real adventure.
The Grizl is available in two platform levels: the Grizl CF SL model and the premium Grizl CF SLX model, with its super light 950g carbon frame (painted, size M). All models feature the precise and composed Gravel Pro geometry we originally developed for the Grail - and to create consistent driving dynamics for all, we offer one of the widest ranges on the market: seven frame sizes, from 2XS to 2XL. Also, to optimize fit and handling, the 2XS and XS bikes have smaller 650B wheels, while the larger sizes run on 700C.
Grizl CF SL 6 - € 1.999 Grizl CF SL 6 - € 1.999 Grizl CF SL 7 - € 2.299 Grizl CF SL 7 WMN - € 2.299 Grizl CF SL 7 - € 2.299 Grizl CF SL 8 1BY - € 2.699 Grizl CF SL 8 - € 2.799 Grizl CF SL 8 - € 2.799
For the toughest off-road terrain, we fit wider tires to push the limits on the trail - all Grizl models come with 45mm tires as standard, mounted on tubeless-ready rims, with clearance up to 50mm for those who prefer a more wild option. To allow riders to carry all the gear, spare parts, technical gear and hydration they need, the Grizl has two fork mounts, a top tube holder and a third bottle cage holder. under the down tube, the latter only for CF SL models.
In the name of maximum versatility and all-round capability, the Grizl is equipped with a number of progressive components and innovative features compared to the previous Canyon gravel model. For added safety on technical trails, there is a guided internal harness that allows maximum compatibility with the dropper post. The Grizl is also compatible with Shimano GRX (single and double chainring) and Campagnolo Ekar rear derailleurs.
Finally, we collaborated with Apidura, a leading company in the bikepacking sector, to create a series of bags tailored for Grizl. Apidura x Canyon bags are adventure-ready and performance-oriented like the Grizl. Drawing inspiration from Apidura's Race and Backcountry series, the bags are lightweight, waterproof and tough enough to tackle everything from an hour of spin before work to a 200km off-road race. The collection is available exclusively on Canyon and Apidura.com.
The entry-level Grizl CF SL will be available from € 1.999 to € 2.699, and the top-of-the-range Grizl CF SLX will be priced between € 4.499 and € 4.599. All seven models of the Grizl family will be available from 11 May, exclusively on canyon. com.
