CANYON launches the Grizl AL gravel

In May 2021, Canyon launched the Grizl CF - half gravel bike, half Swiss Army knife. Today, the German direct-to-consumer brand is complementing the Grizl family with the Grizl AL, a bike with the same design features that made the Grizl CF a success, available in an accessible, functional and versatile aluminum format.

The recent Gravel revolution has taught us that there has never been such a huge appetite for solid, functional bikes that can do it all. This is exactly where the Grizl AL comes into play. Joining Canyon's aluminum gravel range alongside the Grail AL, the latest member of the Grizl family boasts a wide range of unique features that make it a true year-round "do-it-all" model, from escapes at the weekend to light touring, and much more.

Let's start where the rubber hits the road. For an even more beautiful ride when fully loaded, the Grizl AL has tons of space available - it mounts tires up to 50mm, to increase comfort and carry heavy luggage. All bikes come out of production with modern off-road wheelsets and easy-to-convert 45mm tubeless tires. In addition to practicality and affordability, the aluminum frame also offers performance and style, featuring the same Gravel Pro geometry as the other bikes in the Grail and Grizl family.

When it comes to transportation capacity, Grizl AL has it all under control. Firstly, it's a Canyon bike with racing handlebars and rear rack preparation - carrying heavy loads has never been easier: just mount the rack and fill the bags. A wide range of extra attachment points make the Grizl ideal for both short and long bikepacking expeditions: with options to carry more hydration, extra bags, and specially designed full coverage mudguards, the Grizl has all the mounts needed for any type of travel. And for more demanding adventures, there are extra suspension fork options available - riders can make their choice between the Grizl carbon fork with extra mounts, or the added comfort and control of the RockShox Rudy gravel suspension. Finally, in terms of size, the Grizl AL now covers a more diverse rider range than ever, with an additional size, 3XS.

The Grizl AL range starts with the € 6 * Grizl 1.499, with Shimano GRX 400 rear derailleur, DT Swiss Gravel LN alloy wheels, and Canyon designed SP0057 seat post. The flagship is the € 7 * Grizl 1,999 Suspension, with Shimano GRX 600 and 810 drivetrain and brakes, and a RockShox Rudy XPLR fork with 30mm of travel.
