A new season comes with new places. The 2022 UCI Mountain Bike Eliminator World Cup will touch 8 cities and will run from March to September. City Mountainbike has also added 4 events to its National Series calendar, of which three races will take place in Turkey (Izmir, Marmaris and Bodrum) and one in Turčianske Teplice, Slovakia.
This racing program is the result of a successful 2021 season and consists of many returning UCI World Cups and some that will receive a UCI World Cup designation for the first time. The young Italian gun Gaia Tormena and the European champion Jeroen van Eck (NED) were the protagonists of the UCI Mountain Bike Eliminator World Cup last year and took the overall title in the women's and men's categories.
Five new locations
The 2022 UCI World Cup season kicks off in March at a venue to be confirmed *.
Another new addition to the calendar is Falun, Sweden, which will take place in June. The UCI World Cup will then continue in Germany with Aalen, home of UCI World Champion Simon Gegenheimer, who will host the third round on a fun circuit.
Winterberg will host the finals
The penultimate stage will take place in Paris in a magical place (to be announced later) with enchanting sceneries over the “City of Lights”. Winterberg in Germany will be the last stop of the UCI Mountain Bike Eliminator World Cup on 17 September, hosting a UCI World Cup for the fifth time, after participating in the series in 2017. Who will win this year's title?
