BYB Telemetry v2.0: more sensors for the first professional telemetry kit dedicated to MTBs.
Source: press release
Exactly one year ago, BYB Telemetry delivered the first 50 kits ordered through Kickstarter, the crowdfunding platform that made possible the production of the first universal telemetry system designed for MTB suspensions.
The system was created to detect the movement of the suspension and other dynamic parameters of the MTB while riding, allowing riders to base the suspension set up on objective data, rather than limiting themselves to their own sensations and allowing them to overcome the limits of communication between the riders and the technicians of the sector.
After more than a year of research and development, BYB Telemetry is ready to launch a new 2.0 version of the telemetry kit, in the face of a technical improvement and at the same time concerning the simplicity of use, reading and analysis of the graphs obtained, also thanks to the video tutorials published on the BYB Telemetry YouTube channel.
In addition to monitoring the suspensions, the new version allows to incredibly increase the analysis potential of the system, thanks to the introduction of two very practical braking and wheel speed sensors.
The brake sensors require a few minutes of assembly and allow you to evaluate the balance of the bicycle and the behavior of the suspensions and rear stay during braking, in order to improve the set up.
The speed sensor rotates, compared to the powerful integrated GPS antenna, guarantees absolute accuracy with regard to speed and, therefore, the distance traveled along the trails. This upgrade has allowed us to release a new software feature, appreciated even by the most demanding riders, which allows you to compare two different descents and to identify with extreme precision the points of the track where the rider is slower or faster, highlighting them in green. or in red. Both riders engaged in any kind of competition and amateurs will therefore be able to evaluate and compare how two different set-ups of their bicycle can affect chronometric feedback, driving pleasure and safety.
Through the smartphone application and the dedicated software, each rider will be able to consult the new graphics, made easier and more intuitive, and to understand their vehicle more fully.
Even the automatic tuning, designed in particular for the setup service offered by the retailers, as well as a valid aid in reading the data, has been totally revisited. One click is enough to receive explicit suggestions in relation to the acquired data. From the tests carried out, we found that three acquisitions (and related adjustments at the end of each one) are sufficient to correctly set the pressure, rebound and compression of the suspension, as well as the balance between the movements of the wheels thanks to the interpolation feature of the leverage ratio of the wagon of your bicycle.
The software and the smartphone app are constantly evolving, characterized by periodic updates, new features and a lifetime license at no additional cost.
BYB Telemetry v2.0 is lighter, more compact and also more powerful, despite the passage from 2 to 10 acquisition channels that make the kit flexible for any ad hoc request. The sampling frequency has been raised to 1000Hz and the configuration of the parameters of your bicycle has also been integrated into each run. It is a register that allows you to keep track of an infinite number of parameters such as every single click, thickness and pressure used in a path.
The new set of universal supports, made of CNC aluminum, improves and simplifies the assembly of the kit on any bike downhill, enduro, cross country and ebike.
Wanting to guarantee each rider the best suspension set-up, BYB Telemetry has introduced a new bundle suitable for use on both MTB and Motocross, allowing the use of a single acquisition unit and several dedicated sensors. The kits can be purchased at a discounted price in pre-order and delivery in a short time.
