BYB Telemetry detects the movement of the suspension and other dynamic parameters of the MTB, while you are driving. It therefore allows you to view the movement of the suspension, allowing anyone to base the suspension set-up on a series of data, rather than just the rider's sensations. Through an analysis application, a series of useful indications will be provided in order to obtain the best possible suspension set-up, also taking into consideration the riding characteristics of the rider and the track.
Enrico Rodella, co-founder of BYB Telemetry, engineer and instructor of downhill he explains: “Everyone would like to have a bike that is able to tackle a technical section without getting upset, like those used by top riders in world cup races. Unfortunately, this privilege is limited to a few people. We have therefore designed BYB Telemetry, because we want to offer you an easy to use and intuitive product, which allows you to get the best out of your bicycles.
BYB Telemetry is similar to the telemetry systems used by the biggest official teams in UCI World Cup races. Our system was developed in the racing world, with the aim of maximizing performance and overcoming the existing communication limits between the riders and technicians of the sector. Enrico (the co-founder) used the system to reach the best set-up during the race which proclaimed him the Italian champion of downhill (absolute amateur category).
BYB Telemetry can also be used by amateurs who will be able to intuitively view and understand the behavior of their suspensions. Using data instead of sensations, every rider will be able to speed up the tuning process, maximizing his speed, comfort and safety, during a race weekend or on a Sunday at the bike park.
BYB Telemetry is universal, compact and light. It was entirely designed and made in Italy and can be mounted on any bike downhill, enduro, cross country and e-bikes.
It consists of a pair of sensors that can be installed, thanks to a set of universal supports, on each fork and shock absorber. The electronic acquisition unit, which constitutes the heart of the system, is water resistant and is contained in an aluminum case entirely machined from solid by CNC machining. In addition, the control unit also contains the following sensors: an accelerometer, a gyroscope and a GPS, in order to obtain all the data useful for the analysis. It communicates via Wi-Fi with advanced data visualization software (suitable for professionals and suspension riders) or via a smartphone application for automatic suspension setting (suitable for amateurs).
BYB Telemetry will be available from today until January 17, and the first supporters who will order it through the Kickstarter platform will have the opportunity to obtain discounts of over 40% on the list price.
