In the Agonists category, the title is more than uncertain given that the first three are separated by only 8 points: Jan Laner (Trentino DH Racing), Christoph Moser (Mikes Bike Garage) and Andrea Gamenara (Team Bike o'Clock).
The first 3 Masters separated by only 3 lengths are even closer: Luca Fusani in the lead (GS BMX Vigevano), will have to contend with Federico Robello (Team Bike o'Clock) and Nicola Balduchelli (4T Project).
Among the Rookies, the fight seems to be between Sebastian Goosen (3Stars-Alessibici) and Riccardo Vender (Centrobike Valdisole), but Riccardo Marchetto (3Stars-Alessibici) cannot be mathematically excluded.
Among the rookie women Selene Pagani (Tribe Hot Bike) should not have opponents capable of snatching the leadership from her, as well as among the Masters for Martina Fumagalli and Lisa Gava in the Agonists, the latter both of Team Honda Downhillher Scott.
Bormio returns to the national circuits of the most extreme specialty of MTB-gravity with the final race of the Italian Cup Downhill.
On a track refurbished by the Bike-Park managers, the riders will have to climb up to an altitude of 3000Mt, and then descend with a short transfer to the start of the DH track, whose arrival/finish line is expected in Bormio2000.
A show not only for those who will participate in the race as protagonist athletes, but also for the many tourists who will still be present in the prestigious mountain resort of Lombardy. Everyone will be able to watch for free on the side of the track, both along the track and in the finish area. The paddock will instead be set up at the departure point of the Bormio cable cars.
Hundreds of riders will be at the start, all coordinated by the organizer "Downhill Italia”, with the “Italian Cycling Federation” and the managers of the “Bormio Bike-Park”.
Many sponsors and partners of the event will be giving away important prizes starting on Saturday, with the best qualifying times rewarded thanks to Acerbis and Galfer, but they won't be the only ones.
Many medals and plaques will be awarded on Sunday both for the "Coppa Italia" and for the first "Lombardy Region Trophy - By Husqvarna", as well as many appointments scheduled to animate the circus of downhill starting from Friday, with live music at 21:00, while Saturday street food and live concert with a band playing AC/DC covers and many other activities. Sunday heats from 13:00 and to follow prize giving.
