BOA launches the new Li2 platform for cycling footwear, a breakthrough in fit precision.

BOA® Technology presents the new Li2 platform that will debut in cycling shoes, offering the market a smaller, more resistant and eco-sustainable wheel. Li2 offers an essential design, with a decidedly limited thickness while maintaining the recognized precision and micro-adjustments that make BOA the best closure in the world for cycling shoes. Launched in road, gravel and mtb footwear, Li2 will be
available on some top-of-the-range products from partner brands Fizik, Scott, Rapha, Gaerne, Lake and DMT already for autumn while Bontrager, Giro, Louis Garneau and Specialized will present it with the 2021 models.
Li2 sets the benchmark in terms of fast, precise and effortless fit adjustment. The Li2 platform is extremely light, with decidedly limited dimensions and thickness and offers unprecedented resistance against impacts, abrasions, contaminations such as dirt and dust. Although the dimensions have been reduced, Li2 guarantees a high closing force and offers enormous and tangible advantages to cyclists who will appreciate the new system with every pedal stroke. The incremental system, which works in both directions, can be loosened, during long rides or closed for a more enveloping fit during steep climbs and sprints.
In line with the sustainability initiatives implemented by BOA to reduce the CO2 footprint, both internally in our offices and during the production processes, Li2 has been designed to reduce and reuse waste materials. Li2 is available for partner brands in three different casters to meet different aesthetic needs and adapt to double and single caster configurations.
Another novelty is the compatibility with the light and sturdy BOA TX4 fabric lace, as well as with the already known steel lace. The new Li2 platform is designed as a bayonet and cartridge system (like the L6 platform), featuring maximum impact protection, resistance to accidental opening and dirt contamination. In case of strong impacts, the cartridge is designed to be able to detach itself from the bayonet. In this case, the user will then have to insert the cartridge back into the bayonet.
