This year BikeUP overcomes the limits of traditional batteries, presenting for the first time the revolutionary hydrogen bike, which represents a real evolutionary leap in sustainable mobility. At BikeUP, at the Remoove stand, specialized in inclusive mobility, it will be possible to directly test the HYRYD Sport Bike 1.0, a fuel cell-powered bike that far surpasses the performance of traditional e-bikes.

Thanks to fuel cells that convert hydrogen into electrical energy, they offer greater autonomy, very fast charging times and a smooth and silent driving experience. The concrete advantages of hydrogen are many: in addition to the speed of refueling and the total absence of CO₂ emissions (if produced sustainably), this technology allows to completely eliminate lithium batteries, freeing the sector from environmental and geopolitical problems related to rare earths.
The real turning point of the hydrogen bike presented at BikeUP is the possibility of having, included with the bike, the home charging kit, which allows you to autonomously produce hydrogen by requiring only 20 cl of water and a record time of 10 seconds. Visitors and enthusiasts will be able to try this innovation firsthand, concretely projecting themselves into a future where cycling will be completely sustainable and independent from fossil fuels and extractive activities.
The app for sustainable mobility Pin Bike
At BikeUp there will be the startup Pin Bike, a patented and anti-fraud digital system for the certification, monitoring and gamification of urban routes in sustainable transport. It works in a simple way, by downloading the app and using the bike for your urban travel, activating rewards and incentives from municipal administrations, companies and schools. In addition, the system, also applicable to carpooling, monitors speed, distances, physical performance and environmental impact, allowing users to contribute to collective maps and interact with mobility managers. To date, Pin Bike has activated projects in 25 Italian cities and 4 European cities, each with specific incentives for sustainable urban mobility.
Inclusive mobility and the cargo bike phenomenon
BikeUp, as a promoter of sustainable mobility, is aware that cargo bikes are the ideal means to decongest cities and to be able to access everywhere, with undoubted advantages in terms of environmental sustainability. An opportunity that Europe has embraced with cargo sales that grew by 38% in 2020 and which in 2021 made a further leap of 66% according to a study by City Changer Cargo Bike (a project within the European Horizon2020 program).

For this reason, one of the flagships of BikeUP will be the wide Cargo area, in collaboration with Bosch. An area where these bikes dedicated to the transport of people and goods will be enhanced, available in all the versions currently available: long tail and mid tail. In the BikeUp area, you can test cargo bikes from leading brands such as the Milanese Bike-capable, the highly appreciated Danish Larry vs Harry e Omnium, the Germans bergamot e Riese & Müller, which has made sustainability its banner, distinguishing itself with frames made of recycled aluminum and with its 100% recyclable box.
BikeUp also stands out on the inclusive front. During the three days in Bergamo, tandems and bicycles capable of making cycling an experience open to everyone, regardless of age or motor skills, will be presented and available for testing. Come on traditional tandems a special tandems like il three wheels with rear drive and semi-reclined for long journeys.
