BikeUp 2019 moves to Bergamo and puts many new features in the pipeline

Participants in the mountain biking event with activities and demos.

BikeUp 2019, the international cycle festival dedicated to eBikes, now in its sixth edition, changes its setting passing from the splendid Lecco to the equally fascinating Bergamo and will be held from 29 to 31 March, keeping essentially unchanged a formula that has brought great luck and success to the organizers.
If it is true that a winning team does not change, it is also true that the world of sustainable mobility is in constant turmoil and change and BikeUp 2019 will take these evolutions into account with some shrewd insertions on a canvas that has now been run to perfection.
Entries that, as you can see, show for the umpteenth time how the BikeUp organizers have continuously under control the pulse of the situation and are able to identify from time to time the prominent elements and innovations to be included in the program.

After five editions in Lecco, BikeUp moves to 2019 in the splendid Bergamo setting

BikeUp 2019: starting from a triumphal year

BikeUp 2019 lands in Bergamo on the strength of some respectable numbers, which sanction its position of great importance within the Italian cycle fairs and festivals.
The total number of visitors during the past five editions is around 120.000, with the fifth edition alone showing off 30.000, for 59 brands among the exhibitors, 290 ebikes on display, 5350 bike tests and 298 ebike tours.
And it is by looking more closely at both these figures and the previous editions that we understand the reasons for the continued success of a festival that at this point we can also define as itinerant.
BikeUp was one of the first events to strongly believe in the full potential of the pedal assisted electric bicycle and set up a program which was later adopted by many other events.
Great space for exhibitors, of course, but also particular attention to the moment of direct testing, to allow the visitor, potential buyer, to thoroughly test one or more pedelecs before deciding to purchase.
On this now fundamental combination, that is exhibitors + bike tests, the organizers have therefore inserted other elements that are also now common in various festivals, such as for example the kids area and initiatives for children, as well as moments of exhibition and entertainment and greater attention to the territory.

Many models of ebike, e-trekking and eMTB 2019 waiting to be tested at BikeUp 2019.
The latter, if not exclusive to BikeUp, is in any case one of the characteristics that most distinguishes this event from the others, as in addition to testing the bikes, the organizers propose many excursions in the surrounding area.
All these proven and winning solutions will remain unchanged also during the sixth edition of BikeUp, which moves from Lecco to Bergamo, thus remaining in an area traditionally a friend and lover of two wheels, with a great cycling tradition.
And if the e-bike remains the beating heart of the Orobica event, 2019 also reserves space for other means of sustainable mobility, such as e-scooters.

BikeUp 2019: the exhibitors

If every innovation and improvement are welcomed, it is still obvious that one of the main and indispensable fulcrums for any fair cycle worthy of its name is the set of brands on display with their most important models.
BikeUp 2019 brings together some of the most important brands in the pedelec segment, in a list that is still constantly updated: there will be more than 70 brands including e-bikes and bicycle touring exhibitors.
The area reserved for exhibitors' stands covers more than 2.000 square meters and will host world-class names. Find the complete list of exhibitors at this link http://www.bikeup.eu/expo-area-espositori/#listaespo

BikeUp 2019: test and tour area

Based on the time * that the visitor will have available (* the duration of the test is at the discretion of the exhibitor based on the number of visitors), short ten-minute tests can be carried out in the specific area (it is also possible to try the s -pedelec), or routes of about 30 minutes will also be indicated.
This year the Mystic Free Ride mtb guides will be available, with which it will be possible to do mini tours lasting about 70 ', with departures every half hour for both trekking and e-mtb bicycles. To these activities there are also more prolonged and composite excursions up to real 3-day trips with both e-bike trekking and e-mountain bike.
The half-day rides are aimed at discovering the Bergamo area with the help of expert guides. And by discovery of the territory we do not only mean the already splendid landscape that surrounds Bergamo, but also the possibility of discovering some of the best local food and wine realities, adding to the physical pleasure of pedaling also that of the palate thanks to the tasting of various local products.
The top? Pedaling at night, already successfully tested in the previous edition and able to ensure thrilling views under the starry sky.

BikeUp 2019, as usual, also thinks about the cyclists of tomorrow with an equipped Kids Area.

BikeUp 2019: kids area

One of the trump cards of past editions is also back, namely the area entirely dedicated to children, with various types of initiatives divided by age group.
The function of an area of this type is multiple, as in addition to the training of those who will be the cyclists of the future, there is also the possibility of greater involvement by families, so as to create a festival that does not appear elitist. and reserved exclusively for "experts", but which is open and inclusive to all types of spectators.
Baby gymnastics, workshops, bike workshops to learn the rudiments of how a two-wheeler works and of course many tests and tests on the most suitable bicycles to start pedaling, including balance bikes and more advanced models.

At bikeUp 2019 there is also space for spectacular exhibitions in various disciplines.
BikeUp 2019: the shows
As much as some may viscerally love the electric pedal assisted bicycle, spending all day focusing on the various data and characteristics of all the models on display can be tiring even for a professional journalist.
And it is in these moments that the various shows and performances planned by the festival organizer come to perfection, among which at the moment the adrenaline rehearsals that Jenza Kamai will offer stand out.
The twenty-nine year old from Piacenza has long proven to be one of the most interesting and spectacular athletes riding his BMX, and we think that more than a few words could be worth a video, so you can understand what awaits you in Bergamo during the days of the festival.

BikeUp 2019: program and how to get there

At this link the complete program: http://www.bikeup.eu/programmi-attivita-registrazioni/#programmi
Stands and most of the BikeUp 2019 events will be concentrated in Bergamo, from 29 to 31 March, in the area between Largo Gianandrea Gavazzeni and the “Sentierone”, one of the most important avenues of the city.

The sixth edition of BikeUp is ready to overcome the already great successes of the previous ones.
Bergamo is well served by highways, railways and the airport and is therefore very easy to reach.
It can be reached by train (with hourly departures from Milan), while the Orio al Serio airport is just two kilometers from the city, which can also be accessed via the A4 Milan-Venice motorway by taking the appropriate exit.
For more information on each type of initiative, registration for some of the longest and most exclusive tours, any changes and expansions of the program and a complete public reception service with indications of the main hotels available, we invite you to visit the official BikeUp 2019 website. .
