BICYCLE BONUS: how to request it to buy an electric bike?

bike mobility bonus

The 'BIKE BONUS' or, better said, 'MOBILITY BONUS' is getting closer and closer: but what is it? Here are all the details on the subject, both in video and in text form.

The Relaunch Decree brings with it important measures dedicated to sustainable mobility (art.229 DL May 19, 2020, n.34, here the full text of the decree) to encourage the use of ecological / zero impact vehicles in urban areas.

Among the 250 articles of the Relaunch Decree there is also the one regarding the purchase of a new bike to encourage sustainable mobility, which we and many others have called "BICICLETTA BONUS" even if includes all mainly electric propulsion vehicles such as segways, hoverboards, scooters, monowheel.

It will be valid only in municipalities with more than 50.000 inhabitants and you will be able to benefit from a bonus that covers 60% of the price. Valid on the purchase of one bike (be it traditional or electric) for a maximum value of 500 euros. The validity will be retroactive until May 4th 2020 (therefore from May 4th onwards). It will be possible to take advantage of the bonus until December 31, 2020, although we add that the funds will probably run out before that date.

HOW TO OBTAIN THIS CONTRIBUTION?

To obtain the grant, simply access the web application via SPID credentials that will be available on the website of the Ministry of the Environment and request reimbursement for purchases already made or an advance for expenses still to be incurred.

HAVE I ALREADY MADE MY PURCHASE?

Those who have already purchased a bike or scooter can upload a copy of the supporting document on the web application (better invoice) and will get the bonus in the form of a refund with a credit to their current account.

HAVE NOT MADE MY PURCHASE YET?

In this case, the mobility voucher can be used through a digital shopping voucher that the beneficiaries can generate on the web application. In practice, interested parties will have to indicate on the platform the vehicle or service they intend to purchase and the platform will generate the electronic shopping voucher to be delivered to authorized suppliers, together with the balance at their own expense, to collect the goods or enjoy the identified service.
The platform will be operational within 60 days of the publication of the provision in the Official Gazette, which took place on the evening of Tuesday 19 May 2020.
