In addition to its location, near the Udine plain, the area attracts significant numbers of visitors thanks to the presence of places linked to culture (Grotte di Villanova), history (Forte del Bernadia) and outdoor sports.
There are many cyclists who try their hand at mountain biking in these territories, making the presence of bicycles a constant in the area, accepted and well-liked by the local population.

PATHS
The area offers various possibilities, in fact you can find 12 paths with different characteristics all reachable through asphalted roads with low vehicular traffic.
Mainly they are all natural tracks with low altitude differences that offer a good pace, as well as paths suitable for long rides in natural mountain environments a stone's throw from the plain.
The difficulty of these trails ranges from intermediate to expert level with a length of 10 to 45 kilometres with altitude differences between 300 and 1500 metres.

ROUTES
Those who want to visit the Bernadia Trail Area can rely on the advice of those who have always known it, choosing from a series of routes, already ready and downloadable from the web, the one that best suits their physical shape or their enjoyment, from the All Mountain route to the Cross Country or Gravel one.
SERVICES
There are a large number of restaurants and bed and breakfasts in the area, including a good number that offer specific services for cyclists such as bike rental, bike washing, storage or charging stations for e-bikes.

All essential services are also present, including a bank, pharmacy, tourist office and the closest bicycle workshops are in Tarcento and Tavagnacco less than 10 kilometers away.
It is possible to use a bike shuttle service (upon reservation) equipped with a van and bicycle trailer
In the area there is also a FCI sports cycling instructor and guide registered in the regional register as a Cycling Guide in Friuli who includes among his packages of offers also excursions in the Bernadia area (t.ly/AJQaQ).

HOW TO GET
By car: A23 Palmanova – Tarvisio motorway, Udine Nord exit, take State Road No. 13 Pontebbana towards Tarvisio until Tricesimo. From here, proceed towards Nimis.
By train: the nearest train station is Tricesimo (6,4 km away), Udine is 18 km away.
By plane: Trieste – Ronchi dei Legionari airport is 58 km from Nimis.
