In fact, the eighth edition of the European bicycle travelers' meeting closed with significant data, with over 5000 visitors, of which 1200 in tents, facing the lakes of Mantua, and above all with the certainty that this sector, in continuous growth, has chosen the Mantua meeting as a point of reference.
Most of the participants arrived by bike, pedaling even more than a week, from all over Italy and abroad, with the presence of Germans, French and Americans.
Getting to the BAM! pedaling, often putting themselves to the test over long distances for the first time, is the heart of the event, which brings together all those who choose the bike to travel, but also to discover and share. There are tens of thousands of km traveled in total to get to Mantua, powered by an idea of an open and easy bicycle, for everyone, from sportsmen to families, from children to all those who also see two wheels as a responsible, low-cost choice. impact.
Among the guests the singer of the Ex-Otago Maurizio Carucci, the American illustrator and activist Jeremy Collins, the travelers / explorers Dino Lanzaretti and Willy Mulonia, to name but a few, but also families of travelers, the boys of Obiettivo3 and many others, all linked by a wealth of stories and experiences built around the bicycle.
BAM! year after year it becomes an increasingly transversal event, in which the type of bike and cyclist are secondary: from gravel to cargo, from mtb to trekking bikes, all with bags; what counts is the idea of cycling to go somewhere, recovering an ancient travel culture, considering that already in the 800th century there were those who tied a bag to the bike to be able to go far.
“For us it was a great emotion and once again we found that the key element is the gathering, that is, bringing people together, sharing stories and experiences: BAM! it is an event that belongs to and is made by the participants, who recognize themselves in the values of cycling ”says Eleonora Bujatti, one of the founders of BAM !.
“Nothing has yet been decided for 2023, but there could be two editions: the BAM and the BAM! Campfire, in the mountains ”.
