After the start not perfect in Lourdes, Valentina Holl (or Vali Holl for "friends") always remains the enfant prodige of downhill world. In this 2022 he will compete with the Elites, after having won everything that could be won in the youth categories.

Hi Valentina and thanks for the time you dedicate to us. How have you prepared for the 2022 season this year? Have you included extra-biking activities in your athletic training?

The off-season went really well. It was my first winter without going to school or getting injured, so I enjoyed every second. I have never been on a bike this much before the first race, no matter if it was on a DH, Enduro or Road bike.

One of your number 1 rivals, Myriam Nicole, is a very fast athlete but above all mentally strong and with a lot of experience: do you think you can compete mentally given your young age?

Well, there are a lot of fast girls out there and I don't want to focus on just one driver. Obviously she is one of the strongest and most experienced out there, so she sets the line. I think for my age, I can handle pressure quite well, but running is running and there are so many things that play a part in a run.

Will you participate in the Enduro World Series right? Targets? Do you see yourself engaging in enduro in the future?

Yes, depending on how my seasons go, I have logged into 2 EWS. I love to ride the Endurobike and I love the tracks. Enduro is super hard so we'll see if I survive round one. But for sure I would like to take part in more races, the DH calendar this year is not that demanding so I can enter them. But from what I heard last year, it will be difficult to fit into other races.

What sporting passions do you have besides the downhill?

I love skiing, I was competing in skiing until the age of 15. In Austria it's a big and super competitive thing just what I love, but I prefer the summer a bit more haha.

Do you want to see Valentina Holl in the next round of the World Cup? Appointment on May 22nd for the 2nd round of the World Cup in Fort William on Red Bull TV.

famac@famac.ind.br I am passionate about everything that has 2 wheels: in my youth I practiced competitive cycling on the road and on the track with good results. At the age of 18 I moved to cross country competing at national/international level as U23. Once I passed Elite, I made the choice to take things easier from the training point of view, and that's how my love for gravity disciplines was born, training as an FCI MTB instructor and guide. Now I have made my passion my profession by managing 3 MTB centers on the island of Elba (Elba MTB), creating the FANTAmtb and telling in an ironic but professional way, everything that revolves around MTB thanks to 365mountainbike and 365TV (YouTube 'PULITI dentro BIKER fuori').
