Pedaling and authentic flavors: this was the promise of Gravel Gourmet in view of the first edition, held in spring 2022. A promise fully kept, and ready to renew itself in the Parma Valleys also in 2023.

The appointment designed for those who love cycling as a means of discovering a territory in all its aspects, both landscape and gastronomy, is set for Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 May 2023, always in the enchanting scenery between the municipalities of Collecchio, Felino, Sala Baganza and Traversetolo, united in the Unione Montana del Parmense.
The Food Valley par excellence is therefore preparing to welcome gravel enthusiasts from all over Italy again, pampering them with the best of their routes, the beauty of the landscapes and the delights of its flavors, an all-Emilian Slow Mix. Gravel Gourmet was born with the idea of artfully mixing these ingredients, tempting the challenge of the routes, fun and with different levels of difficulty, with delicious snacks curated by local producers, restaurateurs and chefs, obviously to be enjoyed in the company of old friends and new.
“Gravel Gourmet returns with its "slow" cycling spirit, to better savor the pleasure of pedaling, the beauty of the area and the genuine flavors of our cuisine - say the co-organizers of Gravel Gourmet Milena Bettocchi and Beppe Salerno -. The municipalities of the Valli di Parma immediately believed in this project as a vehicle for promoting the area and its excellence, and the success of the first edition gave us even greater enthusiasm. From this first time we have learned a lot, and we are developing ideas and suggestions to further improve an already much appreciated format.”
As for the past edition, the program will include two days of events. On Saturday 13, the participants will experience a first tasty appetizer from the Parma Valleys, the beating heart of the production of Parmigiano Reggiano and Parma Ham, but also Felino salami, tomato puree, pasta, Lambrusco and Malvasia.
On Sunday, however, the organizers of ASD Happy Trail MTB will offer a rich menu of alternatives, with different routes to choose from depending on your preparation and the type of experience you want to have. On both days there will be delicious snacks, tastings of typical local products for a 360° experience among the flavors of the Parma Valleys.
The beauty of Gravel Gourmet is that you pedal without haste: between one snack and another, there's always time for a chat, a photo, or to let yourself be enchanted by nature and its scents.
REGISTRATIONS STARTING FROM 16 JANUARY
Registration for the second edition of Gravel Gourmet, scheduled for 13-14 May 2023, will open on Monday 16 January 2023. It will be possible to register on the website www.gravel-gourmet.it, choosing between different options, with the possibility of participating in both days or only one of the two.
Furthermore, for those who want to live the experience with a non-pedaling guide, as in the past edition, it will be possible to purchase ad hoc packages, with the opportunity to visit the Food Museums of the Parma Valleys and taste the delicacies offered in the snacks. One more chance to make the Gravel Gourmet weekend unforgettable.
