Together with the Atherton brothers, the racers have been instrumental in the development of both Atherton downhill bikes (especially the AM.200.M) and the new range of Continental tires which launched in April this year.

Press release: Continental Atherton

We are delighted that Andi and Charlie have renewed their contract with Continental Atherton for the next three years. They've had some really outstanding results over the last couple of years and are both growing into top-level athletes every time they hit the track. Andi and Charlie are also an integral part of our tire development and testing programs – Oliver Anhuth, Global Head of Marketing, Specialty Tires Two Wheel Continental Tyres

The boys' run of form started at Fort William with Charlie at full throttle, qualifying first and finishing 15th in the final despite a crash. Andi was forced to stop with a broken elbow, but since Round 3 at Leogang both riders have consistently achieved personal bests; Andi took his first podium in World Cup in his first race after an injury and Charlie finished seventh, .

As the season progressed we saw four more World Cup podiums and the European Championship for Andi, and a win at Crankworx plus two more top tens for Charlie, including 7th place at Val di Sole, the toughest track in the year.

I am more than excited to re-sign with the team. Over the past two years, all team members have become like family members to me. And of course, the bike is also a big factor. It gives me confidence in difficult sections. We certainly have one of the best set-ups on the circuit. Can't wait to reunite with the team again and see what's in store for the 2023 season – Andreas Kolb

It was a no-brainer. After my best season to date, the team atmosphere, the whole bike setup, it was an obvious choice for me to re-sign! I'm really excited about the next few years and I'm already excited to stay in this team. I'm super comfortable with this setup after years of tuning and testing different variations. From chassis flexibility to tire development. It's a big confidence boost because I know nothing has been left to chance –Charlie Hatton
