Andorra World Cup: what bad luck Luca Braidot in the Short Track!

Luca Braidot relives the victory in the Short Track of Vallnord, Andorra, but a chain jump puts him in 6th place. Mathias Fluckiger wins.

Great fight in the men's Short Track: no one was able to make a difference in the first half of the race. They tried it before Mathias Fluckiger, then Thomas Litscher but without success. Luca Braidot and Maxime Marotte, of the Santa Cruz FSA team, always perky in the top positions.

RACE REPLAY

As well as Vlad Dascalu, Alan Hatherly and Filippo Colombo. Nino seemed to be in a bit of a crisis: we don't know if it was a deliberate choice so as not to go over the top for the race cross country but the pedaling wasn't the best (sometimes the high ground plays tricks). Further back, around 20th place, Ondrej Cink and Gerhard Kerschbaumer.

With 3 laps to go, Luke Braidot makes an impressive uphill acceleration that puts everyone in crisis! Only Mathias Fluckiger manages to stay within sight of Luca, but he seems unable to close. On the last lap the twist: the chain falls to Luca Braidot!

At that point, Mathias Fluckiger takes the lead and keeps those few seconds it takes to win over Alan Hatherly and Vlad Dascalu. A real shame, we had reassigned a fantastic victory for Luca: he had proved to be the strongest up to that moment.

Don't worry Luca: it remains the queen race on Sunday and, with the leg you showed you have, you will surely be in the first positions to fight for a win. And you proved that a Lenzerheide it wasn't luck.

Ninth place for Victor Koretzky. Good 19th place for Juri Zanotti while Kerschbaumer closes in 31st place. Before him, Nadir Colledani in 25th position.

At the age of 18 I moved to cross country competing at national/international level as U23. Once I passed Elite, I made the choice to take things easier from the training point of view, and that's how my love for gravity disciplines was born, training as an FCI MTB instructor and guide. Now I have made my passion my profession by managing 3 MTB centers on the island of Elba (Elba MTB), creating the FANTAmtb and telling in an ironic but professional way, everything that revolves around MTB thanks to 365mountainbike and 365TV (YouTube 'PULITI dentro BIKER fuori').
