First stage hard with 48km but 3 climbs and mud and Spain again protagonist, with the Andalucia Bike Race to gather many athletes in preparation for the Cape Epic. The race started yesterday, Monday 27 February, from Torredelcampo, southeast of the Iberian peninsula. We will cycle until Saturday with the arrival in Córdoba.
Also present were former road racers Vincenzo Nibali, who is paired with former Italian road champion Ivan Santaromita, and Diego Rosa, who is paired with Domenica Valerio. Surprisingly, the Poles proved to be the strongest Pawel Berns e Michael Paluta (JPG-2 Team) who completed the 48 kilometers in 2:27:47. The Taddei Factory team 1 he finished in second place with a gap of 1 minute and nine seconds, despite some mechanical problems which bode well for the next rounds. Third were the Spaniards Moreno and Bou Martin (Cannondale Vas Arabay).
I Willier Pirelli Alleman and Rabensteiner closed this first stage in sixth place. Vincenzo Nibali e Ivan Santaromita, finished in 2 hours 54 minutes in 45th place while Diego Rosa and Domenico Valerio in 20th place.
THE WOMEN'S RACE
In the women's field clear affirmation of the couple Meritxell - Wust of Buff Megamo, first in 2:59:57. In the race also present Katazine Sosna who runs together with Irina Luetzelschwab (3:02:53), who finish in 3rd place. In 4th place Clare Burato e Constance Fasolis (3: 08: 50).
