An event not to be missed for those who love cycling on the cycle paths of South Tyrol, with two races in which everyone can participate, even simple enthusiasts who have the opportunity to find an assisted pedal bike at the Bike Village and can leave in a group for five minutes after the agonists.
One race will take place on a dirt road along the path that reaches the Monte Elmo Refuge at more than 2 meters and the other on asphalt that from the village reaches the end of the road to the Tre Cime di Lavaredo.
However, the EWC (e-Bike World Championship) are also much more: during the world weekend, enthusiasts and tourists can also visit the Bike Village, participate in parties and tastings, ask for advice from experts and use the Baranci ski lifts at a special price. of 1 euro.
Val Pusteria, a bike-friendly destination
The wonder of the Three Peaks of Lavaredo, Lake Braies, the romantic villages of Dobbiaco and San Candido, all in the middle of the Dolomites, a Unesco natural heritage: those who have not yet seen these places should not miss the opportunity of the eBike World Championships. .
Those who come here in the summer, even the non-bike-addicted tourist, often do it just to pedal. If Sesto in Pusteria is a paradise for mountain bikes, in the valley there are dozens and dozens of kilometers of cycle paths surrounded by greenery. With a normal bike or a rented eBike, you can easily follow the banks of the Drau and descend for about fifty kilometers to Lienz, Austria, and then return by train. By pointing the handlebar towards the West, you can instead cycle towards Brunico (always loading the bike on the train for the return journey) while the dirt cycle path that reaches Cortina, which follows the old railway line, is a real spectacle.
