This Sunday (May 22) the second stage of the world cup in Fort William and Amaury Pierron will certainly be among the favorites, given the victory of Lourdes. We took the opportunity to throw 3 questions on the plate.

Follow the race live on Red Bull TV.

Hi Amaury and thanks for the time you dedicate to us. After Lourdes, how do you manage the pressure?
The media always talk about pressure. It's a question that comes up systematically, it's kind of funny.

For my part, I haven't really observed any pressure. I feel good and relaxed. I worked well with my coach and my mechanic to be ready for the duration of the cup. I haven't really taken the time to put pressure on myself 🙂

You have won at Fort William twice, 3 and 4 years ago. How do you feel about the approach of this phase of the world cup?
I feel happy. I'm looking forward to this week of racing. We had two months of work from Lourdes, everyone will be ready, it will be cool! I want to do well.

What makes this long journey so special and difficult?
It is a 95% artificial track I would say, in terms of construction and flooring. There are long wooden bridges at the top, endless scree in the middle and flat parts that require a lot of physical condition to be efficient at the bottom. The length of this trail is the main source of difficulty.

Ready for the Fort William stop? Here are all the references to follow it live or on a deferred basis.

At the age of 18 I moved to cross country competing at national/international level as U23. Once I passed Elite, I made the choice to take things easier from the training point of view, and that's how my love for gravity disciplines was born, training as an FCI MTB instructor and guide. Now I have made my passion my profession by managing 3 MTB centers on the island of Elba (Elba MTB), creating the FANTAmtb and telling in an ironic but professional way, everything that revolves around MTB thanks to 365mountainbike and 365TV (YouTube 'PULITI dentro BIKER fuori').
