The countdown has begun. After the success of last year, the stage race reserved for owners of electric mountain bikes is back, which this year will bring e-bikers to pedal on new routes in the Aosta Valley.
The competition, scheduled from 28 June to 2 July 2023, includes two races. The first includes five stages for a total of 230 kilometers and 9.600 meters in altitude (AA200), with start and finish in the historic center of the city of Aosta. The second will consist of two stages, for 100 kilometers and a total of 3.300 meters in altitude (AA100), from Antey to Aosta.
The news for 2023: five stages and three categories
The experience of the first edition brings with it some small changes and a couple of big news. The first concerns the initial prologue which thus becomes a real stage, thus bringing the number of legs of the long race, the AA200, to five. The short formula, over two days, for the AA100 remains unchanged. Even the last stage changes substantially (therefore the fifth for the AA200 and the second for the AA100) thanks to a completely new itinerary and with a charging point halfway through the route.
The second big surprise concerns the introduction of three different categories, depending on the preparation and technical level of the athletes. The OPEN category will therefore be reserved for professionals, the MASTER category for amateurs while the third, RANDONNÉE, will be a non-competitive race in all respects, open to all enthusiasts who want to face an incredible journey through the most evocative paths of the Alps.

The route to discover the Aosta Valley
The competition will start from Piazza Chanoux, the heart of the city of Aosta, and will see the finish line of the first stage in Cogne after the ascent to Pila thanks to the cableway and the adrenaline-pumping descent to the foot of the Gran Paradiso. The journey will continue with a second very technical stage, to conquer the Forte di Bard. A mechanized transfer will follow that will take the participants to Gressoney-la-Trinité. Spent the night at the foot of Monte Rosa, the competitors will face the third stage which will see the passage from Val d'Ayas and arrival in Antey-Saint-André, with a view of the Matterhorn. Here the race doubles, with the delivery of bibs for the AA100, from the afternoon, and the joint departure the following day for the fourth leg, the most demanding and wildest of ALL AROUND eMTB Bosch, with transit through the splendid valley of Saint -Barthélemy to end in Valpelline. Finally, for the final stage, the Col de Metz (2492 meters above sea level) is still tackled, along the Mont Fallère and then swooping down to Aosta, to celebrate the winners of the race.
