A mechanical accident forced Fruet from Trentino to retire, giving the green light to Andrea Garibbo who wins the second stage (despite a penalty) and leads the general classification of All Around eMTB Race Bosch ePowered.

In second place of the day the enfant du pais, the Aosta Valley Edoardo Franco and behind him the talented Frenchwoman Nadine Sapin, who also ran into a penalty but who seems not to be satisfied with the third step of the podium of the day (in the general classification she is fourth preceded by the Dutch Rob Meeuwessen)
The first to leave this morning from Gressoney La Trinitè, stage of the All Around eMTB Race Bosch ePowered 2022, was Martino Fruet as leader of the classification after yesterday's masterful test, but fate reserved a nasty surprise for the Trentino Lapierre team, because after passing the first ascent of the special stage and the subsequent descent, a branch half hidden under the mown grass slipped between the chain and the front derailleur, causing the mechanical system to break.

Also assisted by Andrea Garibbo (... in full Dakar style) who was a few tens of meters behind him, Martino Fruet soon took note of the unsolvable damage despite having equipment with him to repair mechanical failures, and raised the white flag, surrendering .
Without the biker from Pergine Valsugana, green light for the Ligurian Andrea Garibbo of Haibike Factor Team Italia who closed the first special stage with the finish line in Tchavana di Metsan with a time of 1: 09'03 "with only 1 minute and 30" on Edoardo Franco of the Black Arrows Gemme Bike. The performances of the only woman in the race, the French Nadine Sapin, who finished the first stage in third position with a time of 1: 14'55 ”, are no longer surprising.
The bikers crossed the Ru Courtod, a medieval aqueduct, created to irrigate the Val d'Ayas and the town of Saint-Vincent: for this section the front pier was mandatory to overcome the 14 hand-dug tunnels present in the last section .
After the obligatory stop for refreshments and battery recharging, the All Around eMTB Race Bosch ePowered riders left for the second special stage of the day with arrival in Antey Saint André which saw the reconfirmation of Andrea Garibbo with a time of 1:25 '32 ”(to which 6 minutes were added for penalty due to track error) leaving the place of honor to the young Simone Suzzi of the Bad School team spaced over 7 minutes, also hit by a penalty. Third place, ça va sans dire, for the transalpine Nadine Sapin who accused 9'25 ”from Garibbo, to whom the jury imposed the same penalty of 6 minutes.
The general ranking of the day (with the sum of the two special stages for a total of 57 kilometers and a positive difference in height of 2.416 meters) obviously sees the Ligurian Andrea Garibbo leading the classification with 2: 40'34 "followed by Franco Edoardo at 8'31" and the French Nadine Sapin third overall 6'45 ”behind Edoardo. In fourth position the Dutch Rob Meeuwessen, this morning in second position in the general classification.
Despite the disappointment of the day, the Dutch biker does not hide his satisfaction with the race format: "A competition in which a good physical preparation to overcome challenging climbs and an equally excellent technical downhill guide certainly counts - comments Meeuwessen - but equally important is the race strategy for battery management: running out of engine power in the middle of an ascent can affect your race. That's why I find it extremely interesting ».

Tomorrow the All Around eMTB Race Bosch ePowered restarts from Antey Saint Andrè for the third stage: the track has a positive difference in altitude of 2.321 meters and will be 44 kilometers long, to which the 32 bikers enrolled in the AA100, the 100 kilometer race. The climbs of the route, which lead to Col de Chaleby, at 2.516 m and Col de Vessonaz, at 2.775 m, are very demanding, with sections in which it will be necessary to proceed pushing your e-mountain bike. From Col de Vessonaz an exciting technical descent of 1.500 meters will start, which will end in Oyace, where the finish line of the test is set and finally, with a short transfer on asphalt you will reach the All Around Camp in Valpelline
