Some time ago we had a face to face with Alberto Deanesi, inventor of the double valve, a true bike artist with a garage full of inventions and ideas. Alberto had a very serious bike accident last spring between the hills of Verona: a dry and thundering fall! ... his breath is short ... friends trying to keep him awake ... unconsciousness ... brief awakening in a helicopter ... black, and the premonition that it could be something serious. The friends who helped him are astonished: Alberto's first sentence, when he was found lying along the path, was: "I think I broke my back".
Now dad Orfeo finds himself having to run the family garage without his invaluable help with Alberto who is fighting with all his strength. For those who know Alberto there is no need for descriptions, he is surrounded by many friends who try to help him every day, even just by visiting him for a greeting. For those unfamiliar with him, Alberto is a person of healthy values, genuine and available to everyone and it is not the usual clichés. Alberto has already struggled in the past with cancer and it seems that life always wants to corner him, a continuous struggle.
His DeanEASY project managed to win important prizes such as the CosmoBike Tech Award and find more and more diffusion, with prominent athletes who used it in their victories. Now, spinal fractures are keeping him motionless in bed and we can give him a big hand if we get together.

A genuine soul and a great desire to do, money is not everything and you live on passions, this is the spirit that animates Alberto Deanesi and whoever knows him knows what we are talking about. He doesn't stop telling us that all those who have helped him over the years must appear in the article. Alberto works together with his father Orfeo in a garage a few kilometers from the center of Verona but very often some bikes sneak among the machines with some customer who introduces himself and asks: "Isn't it that I change an inner tube?"
Alberto is a thoroughbred biker and over the years there have been many innovations conceived and tested, some truly innovative, others less so but always confined to his garage or dedicated to his personal mountain bike. Making himself beautiful or appearing is not in his heart, other people with his ideas would have immediately entered into business looking for the big shot or would have struttered at the various events; not him, he has always lived by sharing everything with real friends without looking for easy shop windows. Then in 2002 a cold shower. He was diagnosed with carcinoma (tumor) at the age of 39 and his life changed from there. The daily life of the family, the mechanical workshop of his father Orfeo, the outings on Mountain Bike vanish and the priorities become other. All from one day to the next. It's hard to just think about it. But Alberto's will to live and his great will led him to leave everything behind. On the other hand we are talking about one that has completed all the editions of the Lessinia Legend long (very famous MTB Marathon race in the 90s with mileage over 100km) and of the Vasaloppet, the oldest, longest and largest ski race. of the world that takes place in Sweden.
After the difficult period of the illness he took part in the Bike X-Treme, a race that included a last very technical timed descent: it was on that occasion that the idea of the double valve was born… and we are back in 2006! The track was slightly wet and there was no standing on the cobblestones: "the solution was one" - Alberto reports - "that is to lower the pressure to 1.4 / 1.5 but no one did it due to obvious technical limitations and therefore these technical limits had to be eliminated. At that point he adds a hole to the rim and inserts a tubular inside it (for road), so that it does not make the tire bead: “a bit like Schwalbe has now”, smiles Alberto. With this set-up he will race the Bike X-Treme of 2007, winning it in front of Enrico Dal Fitto and repeating the following year in front of Martino Fruet (in any case able to face downhill riders with his browband! A great handle).
At the end of the race, many will observe his bike discussing what those valves are popping up… In 2008 I had a system in my hands that I thought was a winner and I was amazed how no big brand had ever thought of it. So I decide to patent the system and throw myself into the fray, after having eliminated the further hole on the rim and having created a single valve since with the double outlet I had continuous problems of obstruction (the tubular was going to block the air outlet of the Tubeless valve) and the tubular valves tended to tear ". Alberto has also devised a system applicable to racing bikes, essential for races such as the Paris Roubaix, but there the market is reduced and the efforts have shifted to MTB, even if in the near future it is not certain that the offer will be expanded. . Deanesi continues: “Now we are finally ready to go out on the market thanks also to the collaboration of Tufo which has produced super light internal tubulars (editor's note, in a nice red) without the tread which is useless for us. With our kit now the weight increases by only 120 grams! ”.
