Brett Rheeder is considered one of the greatest cyclists ever in the field of slopestyle: the Canadian from Mount Albert, Ontario, left his first mark in 2013 by winning the gold medal at the X-Games in Munich.
Brett has been on the Trek C3 Project since 2012, and has since won Rampage, X-Games, seven stages of CrankWorx and the only one to take the FMB Slopestyle World Tour Champion title four times. Finally he participated with them in various films: including "NotBad", "UnReal", Not2Bad "and" Return to Heart ".
But this year Brett will say goodbye to his partner and possibly equal athlete Brandon Semenuk, with whom he has always competed and spurred each other on. After the Canadian's victory at the first X-Games slopestyle event, Semenuk, who was next to bottom before Rheeder in the final run, reported after the race: "We are at the X-Games so everyone here wants to give their best, it is a strange feeling to launch into this run decided at the last second knowing that only your opponent remains after you. Do what you can and hope it is enough. But Brett behind me had that round in his blood, he was so composed and that day he made the best run! "
After the decision to leave the team, the Canadian declared: "This is the toughest decision of my sporting career. Since I'm signing with another producer for the next two years and I'm leaving Trek after so much it's all bittersweet. I struggle to put into words how fantastic the last nine years spent with Trek have been, I want to thank them for the role they have played and for all the support they have provided to my career. Together we have taken many steps and completed many challenges."
Rheeder has not yet announced who will be the partner for the next two years, we hope to be able to update you soon! Helmet on and see you next ...
