Excellent proof of the blue Alia Marcellini, sixth, and of the European Champion Eleonora Farina, ninth.
What a weekend, guys! The third stage of the DH World Cup in Austria and on Red Bull TV gave us breathtaking races. If you missed them, you can watch yesterday's finals at www.redbull.tv.
The Leogang track turned out to be challenging and fun, very fast and interspersed with technical points that made the difference, without however creating abysmal gaps, with a race that was played up to the last on a tightrope, keeping the tension high and the emotions of the spectators.
Aaron Gwin, who two years ago on this descent lost the chain (this time it happened to Danny Hart and Mark Wallace) was impeccable. The American interspersed sections faced with very clear precision with others in which he let himself be carried away by aggressive driving.
During his heat he ran into a couple of mistakes from which he came out with even greater determination, clearly demonstrating his intention to win. He thus took home his third consecutive victory in Leogang and climbed the overall standings to 2nd place. Behind him finished Loris Vergier and Greg Minnaar, who retains the leadership of the circuit.
First World Cup success for Tahnée Seagrave among women, after countless podiums. With a perfect run, the Englishman was less than 7 tenths of a second behind Tracey Hannah who, given Rachel Atherton's absence due to injury, was considered the favorite athlete. Third position for Myriam Nicole who remedies a delay of 2 and a half seconds clear of the best time of the day.
Excellent proof of the blue Alia Marcellini, sixth, and of the European Champion Eleonora Farina, ninth.
The next appointment with the UCI World Cup is for the weekend of 1-2 July in Vallnord, Andorra, where we will meet both the DH tightrope walkers and the champions of the cross country. While waiting for a new exciting live broadcast, you can watch the first tests of the season on Red Bull TV.
