It is always them, the volcanic Enrico Guala and Franco Monchiero, always too far ahead of the present in which we live. From the creators of Superenduro a new race format is born, a revolutionary and alternative vision of cycling competitions, the Superenduro B-Road. Who are able to make the world of the road again 'young'?
The first test will be done on 2 June 2015 from the town of La Morra, a village nestled in the wonderful Langhe area in the province of Cuneo. The challenge will take place along the characteristic secondary road network, a sinuous and seductive ups and downs between the green of the vineyards, the ancient medieval villages and some of the most famous wineries in the world. The pitch will be mainly asphalt, but with some stretches of dirt and cobblestones, all away from the traffic and smog of the major communication routes.
But what is it?
The idea that the Superenduro B-Road intends to pursue is that of a freer use of the road bike, more "enduro" with the original connotation of the term, alternative and less constrained by the type of route or the bottom to be traveled, pure expression of the cyclist's desire for exploration who frees himself from the “technical” constraints of traditional mechanical means. An Enduro discipline with road bikes.
"We created Superenduro in 2007 to give a competitive position to the growing offer of pedalable long-travel bikes that otherwise would have remained little understood in Italy. Today more and more companies are proposing new types of road bikes that push the boundaries of what is possible with an asphalt bike much further. It is therefore time to bring the Superenduro B-ROAD to life!”Declares Franco Monchiero.
In fact, the goal of the Superenduro B-ROAD is to support the world of the road in what is in effect a change that is taking place within it, a technical evolution towards the use of more versatile, not extreme, comfortable and funny. With this format we do not want to replace “classic cycling”, but rather to welcome and support this new philosophy which is gradually leading to a different way of experiencing this wonderful sport and the territory.
Enrico Guala declares: "The design phase of the format and the first event took me back to the early Superenduro years. Combining technical development of vehicles with the needs of users and territories, giving those who participate an experience that goes well beyond the race itself. Today some are starting to talk about gravel, the Superenduro B-ROAD goes beyond the limit of a definition, for some it will be a revolution, for many what they have always dreamed of and never dared to ask!"
The Superenduro B-Road awaits you on 2 June 2015 in La Morra (CN).
