Tony Longo (originally from the Primiero Valley), who this year will not be happy stated that he wanted to quit the activity. Ok, 2026 is far away, but if it had been a few years earlier, it would certainly have pleased the Trentino champion a lot.
The announcement came today from UCI President David Lappartient who declares to the whole world the holding of the World Championships in the splendid Trentino location. At the head of everything Massimo Panighel of Pedali di Marca, former organizer of various international events in the past, e Massimo Debertolis first and only Italian marathon world champion.
A few days ago the second edition of the Mythos Primiero Dolomiti took place, and these paths will be the scene of the world championship event on 12 September 2026. The event is supported by local public administrations and the Autonomous Province of Trento.
Massimo Panighel's words: "It is the culmination of a project that started last year, that of bringing a great bike event to the area, a project strongly desired by the municipal administration and the APT. I am very happy, for Pedali di Marca it is the third world championship!"
