Stories, workshops of all kinds, concerts, screenings and rides in the area: the BAM program is online! 2024, the European gathering of bicycle travellers, who will meet in Mantua from 7 to 9 June.
“The program begins when the participants leave home by bicycle”, say the organizers: this is in fact the peculiarity of BAM!, that of putting thousands of travelers on their bikes and “on the road”, who leave by pedaling from Italy and every part of Europe to meet up once a year.
From Friday 6th, at 18pm, until Sunday 8th June, in the afternoon, an intense program of events of all kinds and for all tastes will take place.
Friday starts with wonderful stories and journeys, like that of Giulia Baroncini, from Rovigo to Chicago, in the footsteps of Luigi Masetti, the first Italian cycle traveller, or those, sometimes bike+ski, of Sisa Vottero. There will be no shortage of experience from Daniel Oss, yesterday's great cycling champion, today also a "bikepacker".
And finally, we will also talk about pain in the saddle, with the expert Omar Gatti, before giving space to music with I Vazzanikki, Guido Foddis and Leslie's DJ set.
On Saturday there will be many moments to learn, with workshops for children, yoga sessions, bicycle maintenance courses, traveling mechanics, photography, nutrition and much more, including the precious workshops in which we will talk about drawing and creativity with Fabio Consoli , illustrator of many covers of American magazines, as well as of the bear symbol of BAM!!, of narration with Stefan Amato or of artistic maps with Francesco Bonvecchio.
A special moment will be the one with the tightrope walker and philosopher Andrea Loreni, who in addition to telling his life balancing on the cable, will also hold a balancing course.
There will be many meetings on stage: the crossing of the Andes by the "Soulbikerz", the "Bike and Climb" by Elena Bifano, the journeys beyond the illness of Luca Rizzo, and then Giancarlo Brocci, who will talk about his "Heroic journey", Sofiane Sehili and Nathalie Baillon and their "ultra" experiences, Nepal by bike with the Explore team or Europe by bike with Eva Croce, to talk about LGBTG+ awareness.
And again Federico Damiani, who will explain the set-up for crossing the Rocky Mountains, Elisa Bessega and Enrico Mosetti who will talk about the volcanoes of South America, with skis on bikes, the glacial journeys of Omar di Felice and Patagonia through words and images in the documentary Tratti, presented by Francesco Frank Lotta, Willy Mulonia and Paolo Martelli.
And finally the reasons for traveling explained and narrated by Dino Lanzaretti.
There will be numerous rides to discover Mantua and the surrounding area, such as the Women's ride or family experiences.
Sunday is the day of returning home, obviously by cycling, but there will still be numerous events, such as the meeting with Roberto Peia and his African adventures and various workshops and concerts.
All BAM! meetings they are free and with free admission: some workshops have a limited number of places.
Tent places are for sale on the site www.bameurope.it, where you can consult the complete program.
