Building on the advanced impact absorption of Koroyd® and the rotational force protection provided by the MIPS® technologies incorporated into Smith helmets, the addition of Aleck impact sensors offers next-level protection while on the bike. Integrated directly into the helmet's fit system, the Aleck sensor measures impact forces, confirming the rider's status and sending an emergency message with GPS position if necessary. By connecting via the smartphone app, Aleck CS connects riders to their chosen emergency contacts and any other Aleck app users within a 1,8-mile radius. No subscription is required to access basic crash detection features.

Aleck and Smith have already collaborated to bring an award-winning audio and communications system for skiers and snowboarders to the global market. This is the first launch of a cycling-specific design, as Smith is the first brand in North America to launch bike helmets with Aleck CS integrated.

“We are excited to see an evolution that extends the partnership with Aleck, one of our helmet technology partners,” said Scott Randall, global vice president of product at Smith. “The introduction of this new shock detection sensor continues to advance our pursuit of meaningful solutions to improve the customer experience. We take our responsibility to protect our cycling community seriously and believe that the addition of Aleck's crash sensor further enhances Smith's already strong helmet proposition for our cyclists.”
Aleck CS integrated sensors in Forefront 2 (MSRP $270 USD), Trace (MSRP $270 USD), Payroll (MSRP $220 USD), and Triad (MSRP $210 USD) are now available at smithoptics. com and at selected retailers around the world.
