As a partner of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup stages, for the last three years Vittoria has had the privilege of being present at all events, close to the best professional athletes, teams and fans. Vittoria has inherited the spirit of the MTB World Cup and is now ready to pass it on to all enthusiasts with the new UCI licensed versions of Vittoria Barzo and Mezcal.

These two pacesetters have marked Vittoria's history in professional mountain bike competitions cross country. Since their launch on the market they have collected countless national and European titles; Jordan Sarrou won the Mountain Bike World Championship cross-country Olympic (XCO) in 2020 on Barzo; Pauline Ferrand-Prévot won the Mountain Bike XCO World Championship in 2015 on Barzo and in 2022 on Mezcal, Henrique Avancini won the World Championship cross-country marathon (XCM) in 2023 on Mezcal, just to name a few.

High performance XC tread now within the reach of athletes

The new UCI licensed tires feature the same high-performance tread designs as the high-end Barzo & Mezcal versions. They use a strong and flexible 60 TPI nylon casing, tubeless-ready folding beads and a versatile yet durable compound suitable for all conditions.

The alternating central blocks of the Barzo slide quickly while those on the sides sink into corners, increasing grip under lateral and counter-slope loads. The wide distance between the blocks helps clean the tread from mud and clayey soil. Mezcal features a unique low profile tread, narrowly spaced in the center, for low rolling resistance and durability. The central knobs form a continuous line that makes the tire slide quickly, while the knobs on the sides give the necessary support to tackle fast turns on hard and slippery surfaces.
