It's called G.VISTA and is the new model developed by Gaerne in collaboration with Michelin through the Soles by Michelin project.
A shoe that embodies two stories of Italian and European excellence: on one hand, Gaerne, a brand born in the Treviso footwear district that became a global leader first in cycling shoes and then in motocross boots; on the other, Michelin, a company that built its reputation on research into traction and control, now transferring this expertise to the world of high-performance technical soles.
A collaboration built on the real needs of the rider
The Soles by Michelin partnership isn't limited to the use of a standard sole. Each project stems from a shared study with the footwear brand, developing specific solutions based on the shoe's intended use and the needs of the rider who will wear it.
For the new G.VISTA, the goal was to create a shoe that would be fast and efficient on paved roads, but also safe, stable, and reliable when the trail turns into technical dirt or requires walking.
The core of the project is the new Michelin sole, designed to ensure grip, traction, and stability even in the most demanding conditions. The tread uses a special, highly abrasion-resistant compound, engineered to offer control and durability. The lug design and wide spacing also promote self-cleaning and rapid mud shedding on the most technical trails.
Pedaling efficiency and comfort in motion
The sole structure combines nylon reinforced with carbon fiber, a solution that allows for the right balance between rigidity and efficiency in power transmission, without sacrificing comfort while walking.
The perforated upper improves ventilation and breathability on longer outings, while protective TPU reinforcements increase durability and protection in the most demanding situations. The lace-up closure completes the model, ensuring a natural, customizable fit with a simple, timeless style.
