The return of an off-road icon, but with a new philosophy
Fizik presents the Ferox 2 Carbon, its lightest and most performing off-road shoe, designed for speed and power transfer. It retains the Powerstrap closure system and introduces an updated anatomical fit for improved comfort and efficiency.
Designed for fast gravel and XC MTB competitions, Ferox 2 features a modern shape and a more enveloping internal construction, designed to offer safety even on the most challenging terrain.
When the bike changes… the shoes also change
In recent years, there's been a lot of talk about geometry, longer reaches, different stacks, and more aggressive or more central positions. But one aspect is often overlooked: the most direct point of contact between the cyclist and the bike is the foot.
And this is where Fizik really worked.
The new Ferox 2 was born from a simple but important observation:
👉 the new riding positions shift the load and thrust towards the forefoot
This led to a revision of the shoe's shape:
- reduced drop → more natural pedaling
- wider forefoot → more room to stretch the foot
- greater stability → better control on technical sections
The result? A shoe that doesn't force the foot to adapt to the bike, but adapts to the new biomechanics of modern pedaling.

More control, less effort (especially when going downhill)
An interesting aspect that emerged from the tests is linked to the management of technical descents.
With the new structure, riders can lower their heel better, reducing stress on the calf. This means:
- less fatigue
- greater relaxation
- more control over the rear wheel
Details that, in XC races or on long gravel days, really make the difference.
Mud, water, and weight: the details that change the experience
Anyone who rides off-road knows this: weight is not just what is declared on the scale.
Mud and water can turn a lightweight shoe into something much less capable.
Fizik has worked precisely on this aspect with an upper:
- water-repellent → water is not absorbed
- resistant → protects against impacts and abrasions
- structured in zones → breathability where needed, protection where it counts
The result is a shoe that It remains lightweight even in the worst conditions, avoiding that “ballast” effect that is felt especially on longer or more technical sections.
Powerstrap and BOA: safety and precision
The locking system combines:
- Powerstrap → stability and containment
- BOA Li2 → millimetric adjustment
The evolution of the Powerstrap is interesting: lighter, more flexible and with better pressure distribution.
A non-trivial detail?
👉 continues to work even if dropped

Carbon sole: pure racing soul
There are no compromises here.
The X1 carbon sole offers:
- high stiffness (index 10)
- greater contact surface with the pedal
- direct power transfer
All with rubber inserts for grip when getting off the bike.
It is a shoe clearly designed for pure performance, but with a comfort that makes it usable even over long distances.
A shoe destined to become a reference?
Ferox 2 is not just an update, but a concrete response to how off-road cycling has changed.
✔ new biomechanics
✔ new needs
✔ new terms of use
With a full carbon sole and a redesigned fit, it has all the features to become one of the best sellers of the gravel/XC season.
