DJI, the world leader in civilian drone manufacturing and creative camera technology, today sets a new standard for commercial drone operators with the launch of the DJI Matrice 350 RTK (M350 RTK).
Source: press release
Whether used as a business tool or to save lives, the M350 RTK is a more adaptable, safer and more efficient flagship upgraded aerial platform for any operation in areas such as public safety, energy, mapping, infrastructure or forestry, to name a few.
“It is amazing to see how commercial drone pilots around the world are using DJI platforms to carry out operations more safely and more effectively than using traditional technologies,” said Christina Zhang, Senior Director of Corporate Strategy at DJI. “The new capabilities offered by the M350 RTK's advanced technology allow operators to push beyond these limits.”
More power for more scenarios
With a maximum flight time of 55 minutes, the M350 RTK has a payload capacity of 2,7 kg which allows operators a wide range of payloads to carry out each mission. Additionally, the new DJI O3 Enterprise Broadcast gives users peace of mind, thanks to a 1080-channel 3p HD live feed and a maximum transmission distance of 20km. This is achieved with a 4 antenna transceiver system, which can intelligently select the optimal 2 antennas to transmit signals, while the 4 antennas receive signals simultaneously. In this way, the anti-interference capabilities are greatly improved and the transmission stability is optimized.
Greater flight safety
Emergency and rescue situations don't factor in bad weather, which is why the M350 RTK's IP rating has been upgraded from IP45 to IP55, along with the FPV camera, to provide better navigation during safer night flights. The M350 RTK also adds a new arm lock detection function, to avoid the risk of the arms unlocking during flight, easing pilot concerns. Worries are also reduced with a 6-direction binocular vision system and an infrared sensing system for 6-direction awareness, positioning and obstacle sensing capabilities, providing comprehensive protection during flight. For those requiring increased flight safety, a CSM radar can be purchased separately and installed on top of the drone, providing detection up to 30m away for undetectable obstacles within the 360° detection range. Additionally, the M350 RTK integrates a multi-layered redundancy design in both the aircraft and sensor system, enabling safer operations in harsh environments.
Improved efficiency
The M350 RTK comes with DJI RC Plus as standard, featuring a 7-inch high-brightness screen, Dual Operator mode option, and up to 6 hours of operating time with a standard WB37 external battery. Dust and water resistant to IP54 degree of protection and with an operating temperature of -20° to 50°C, the RC Plus can operate 24/24 even in very hot or cold environments. Controller buttons and dials on the front, back and top, and customizable button functions provide an intuitive and flexible experience to suit user preferences. RC Plus' Pilot 2 app further increases efficiency by providing a full range of options to manage the drone and each project, from start to finish.
Intelligent functions can greatly increase the efficiency and safety of any situation. AI Spot Check can be used to automate routine inspections and capture consistent results every time; PinPoint can be used to tag an object with a touch and have its coordinates calculated and projected as an AR icon on all camera views, which is particularly useful in search and rescue operations.
Reduction of flight costs
The M65 RTK's new TB350 battery has a 100% increased cycle count and can be charged up to 400 cycles, reducing the cost of a single flight. Its dual battery system supports hot swapping of batteries and allows for multiple flights without shutting down.
The new BS65 Intelligent Battery Station offers a complete solution for charging, storing and transporting batteries. Multiple charging modes allow the operator to select the best option, such as charging the battery up to 50% in storage mode (if the battery will not be used again for an extended period of time) or ready-to- Fly, which rapidly charges multiple sets of batteries to 90%, to ensure their operation at all times and extend their life.
When the Battery Station is connected to the DJI RC Plus, the DJI Pilot 2 app will display battery status and health information. In addition, the user can set the number of days of self-discharge, update firmware, export logs and access other quick operations with one touch.
The battery station is designed with wheels that rotate 360° for easy transport.
Powerful payloads
The M350 RTK supports a single gimbal down, 2 gimbals down, and a single gimbal up, and has an open E-Port interface. With a maximum payload capacity of 2,7kg, the aircraft can carry up to 3 payloads (purchased separately) simultaneously, meeting the needs of different operational scenarios such as public safety, inspection and mapping.
Zenmuse H20 series: The 4 sensors of zoom camera, wide angle camera, still camera
thermal imaging and laser rangefinder work together, integrating advanced intelligent algorithms to deliver exceptional imaging and sensing performance.
The Zenmuse H20N integrates starlight sensors into its wide-angle zoom cameras. Combine this with two zoom thermal imaging cameras and a laser range finder and the user gets a hybrid payload that is perfect for any occasion.
The Zenmuse P1 integrates a full-frame sensor with fixed focus interchangeable lenses on a 3-axis stabilizer. Designed for photogrammetry flight missions, it takes efficiency and accuracy to a whole new level.
Zenmuse L1 integrates a Livox Lidar module, a high-precision IMU and a mapping camera. Used in conjunction with a flight deck, it forms a complete solution, providing real-time 3D data throughout the day, efficiently capturing the details of complex structures and providing highly accurate reconstructed models.
Third-Party Payloads: Custom payloads such as gas detectors, loudspeakers, and multispectral sensors can be combined with the M350 RTK via the DJI Payload SDK, to expand application scenarios.
Smart operations
DJI Enterprise drones are designed to make users' lives as safe and easy as possible while carrying out operations, and the M350 RTK is no exception. A number of intelligent features such as Waypoint, Mapping, Oblique, Linear Flight, Terrain Follow, Smart Oblique, PinPoint, Live Mission Recording and AI Spot-Check, can be used to get the most out of this aerial platform.
High Accuracy Mapping: M350 RTK supports Waypoint, Mapping, Oblique, and Linear Flight missions. Terrain Follow or Smart Oblique can be used for efficient data collection, and when combined with DJI Terra, digital 2D and 3D HD results can be obtained in no time for highly accurate and efficient mapping operations.
Air-Ground Coordination: With features like high-precision PinPoint and cloud-based real-time mapping, M350 RTK can coordinate and synchronize every operation. Once image collection is complete, DJI FlightHub 2 can quickly model the operational site and transmit command information to aircraft and ground operators. Both the remote controller and FlightHub 2 support real-time point, line, surface drawing and upload, and can cooperate with the aircraft to stream real-time operation display, breaking down communication barriers for operations.
Precision Automated Inspections: Through Live Logging of missions, M350 RTK can generate and archive flight path files that can be used at any time to create automated operations and make repetitive inspection no longer time consuming or effortless. When using AI Spot-Check , M350 RTK supports automatic framing and manual adjustment of subjects, to improve the accuracy of repeat shots and the quality of inspection operations.
Expandable ecosystem
Operators will be able to get even more out of M350 RTK by leveraging the DJI SDK and API ecosystem.
Payload SDK: A bewildering variety of third-party payloads such as gas detectors, speakers, multispectral sensors, and compute modules can be integrated to use the platform in even more ways. The Payload SDK supports E-Port, SkyPort V2, and DJI X-Port, which significantly shorten the payload development lifecycle and maximize its potential under the most diverse scenarios. The E-Port supports Payload SDK V3 and above and is compatible with Matrice 30 series third-party Payload SDKs.
