DJI, a world leader in drones and action cameras and in the development of creative imaging technologies, today introduced Osmo Action 5 Pro. The latest addition to the renowned DJI Osmo action camera family, it’s ready to compete with professional cameras. With 13,5 stops of dynamic range and a whopping 4 hours of battery life, as well as built-in tracking and subject centering functions, Osmo Action 5 Pro sets a new standard for sports photography, and is ready to capture every adventure in every environment, from sea to mountains, under the sun or in the snow.

13,5 stops of dynamic range for revolutionary image quality
Osmo Action 5 Pro boasts an innovative 1/1,3-inch sensor with a pixel size of 2,4μm and a dynamic range of up to 13,5 stops, making it the first action camera to rival professional cameras. Images can be captured in 10-bit D-Log M and support for high-brightness viewing with Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG). It can also record high-dynamic-motion low-light videos at 4K/60fps, capturing intricate details in shadows without blowing out highlights, improving overall image quality. Additionally, SuperNight mode with AI-based noise reduction algorithms defies the darkness of low-light environments to deliver clean, crisp footage.
Extended battery life to 4 hours for extended shooting
The average operating time of action cameras is about 2 hours, while Osmo Action 5 Pro promises up to 4 hours of continuous use on a single battery charge: more than 50% compared to its previous version. This innovation is made possible by the 4nm chip with low power consumption, the more powerful battery (1.950 mAh), and the proprietary algorithm optimized for energy saving. Even at low temperatures (up to -20 °C), the camera continues to record videos (up to 3,6 hours). In addition, the battery allows you to shoot for 2 hours with a charge of just 15 minutes, thanks to the DJI 30W USB-C fast charging charger.
Best in class, with integrated subject centering and tracking
Osmo Action 5 Pro is the first action camera with built-in subject centering and tracking capabilities, allowing creators to shoot without a gimbal. Equipped with a high-performance 4nm chip and machine learning algorithms, the camera can intelligently detect the position of a subject, dynamically adjusting the composition to keep it centered in every frame.
Optimized for underwater photography
Osmo Action 5 Pro goes deeper than any other, being waterproof up to 20m without a case. The built-in color temperature sensor ensures absolute color fidelity for underwater colors. The camera can be set to automatically start recording when it enters the water, and automatically stop when it exits. It also has a built-in pressure sensor, to track underwater depth data, as well as duration and altitude, always ensuring the user's safety. Certified EN13319, it meets the international standards required for underwater equipment.
Two larger, high-brightness OLED touchscreens
Osmo Action 5 Pro features two large tempered glass touchscreens, one on the front and one on the side, now high-brightness OLED. With an impressive peak brightness of 1.000 cd/㎡, shooting on sunny days has become easy. By increasing the size of the screens and reducing their bezels, while leaving the design of the camera body unchanged, the space covered by the displays is now 16% more than the previous version.
Compatible with the DJI OsmoAudio™ ecosystem
Osmo Action 5 Pro connects directly to the DJI Mic 2 transmitter via Bluetooth, enabling ultra-high sampling rate audio recording. This setup provides professional-quality sound and eliminates the need for a receiver. By activating the built-in microphone’s audio backup function, it also records ambient sounds, adding an extra touch of authenticity to your footage.

Creators can quickly preview the camera view to adjust settings and edit footage by connecting to Osmo Action 5 Pro with the DJI Mimo app via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. New features of Mimo include high-resolution 4K live photo and still capture, D-Log M flat color profile playback for more focused editing, and 4K/120fps video export with a 4:3 aspect ratio. Creators can also download photos and videos from the camera in the background, allowing them to continue using their smartphone for other activities.
