Cannondale Recalls “Dave” Bikes Due to Frame Failures. Here is the press release from Cannondale.
At Cannondale, we know that our riders demand the highest level of performance, quality and safety. For this reason, we are committed to respecting this need of yours both personally and in the creation of Cannondale products.
We have identified a safety issue with the 2021-23 Dave Cannondale bikes and framesets. The welds on the bicycle's head/down tube can become damaged and separate from the frame, placing the rider at risk of falls and injuries. Therefore, we are conducting a product recall of these bicycles in cooperation with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Cannondale dealers and riders should inspect the bicycle to determine if they own a 2021-23 Dave Cannondale model or frame kit. You can identify the affected bicycle or frame kit by the presence of the word “Dave” painted on the bicycle's top tube. If you own a 2021-23 Dave Cannondale bicycle or frame kit, do not ride it until it has been replaced by a Cannondale dealer.
Contact your authorized Cannondale dealer to schedule an appointment for a free bicycle frame replacement. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and for choosing Cannondale.
