Luca Braidot (Santa Cruz FSA Team) wins a historic victory for Italy: the last to win in the Cup was Gerhard Kerschbaumer in 2018 in Andorra (find out who else Italian had won), which today is clearly resumed with a good 9th place. Fantastic day for Italy in Switzerland, considering that Team Santa Cruz is also based in Italy.
REPLAY OF THE RACE
The race experienced the domination of 5 men, who led the whole race, viz Luke Braidot, Alan Hatherly, Mathias Fluckiger, Nino Schurter and Filippo Colombo, with David Valero who acted as a rubber band.

The 2 rulers appeared to be Nino Schurter, today in great shape and always in control of the situation, and Mathias Fluckiger, who never missed an opportunity to attack Nino on every climb but without being able to make a difference.

We arrive in this situation in the last 2 laps, where Mathias Fluckiger tries to detach everyone with an attack of his own: the only one who manages to follow him is Nino Schurter, with Luca Braidot just a few seconds away, who manages to close in the course of the last lap forming a trio. During the last lap it is battle, but the pace is fluctuating, and allows the return of Alan Hatherly.
We arrive at the last descent where Mathias Fluckiger enter decided on Nino Schurter and makes it fall, thus making it fade the record of victories for the Swiss talent.

Luca Braidot and Alan Hatherley who gain those few meters that will allow them to fight for the victory in a sprint to 2, with the Italian overtaking the South African by a few centimeters! At the end of the race, climate of tension between Nino Schurter and Mathias Fluckiger.

VIDEO ARRIVAL
At the end of the race, Nino Schurter he is very bitter with Mathias Fluckiger, who defends himself by saying: “it ran, we touched and we crashed. I am embittered but, I repeat, she ran ”. There is still no video of the fall as it was in a point not covered by the cameras.
