The day began with very high temperatures, the thermometer reached 37°C around lunchtime. To counteract the heat, special care was taken for the athletes, with strategic points along the course that allowed them to receive refreshing sprays of nebulised water.

In the first year Rookies race, 98 boys started at 9:00, taking advantage of less harsh temperatures. Right from the start, two favorites stood out: Mattia Acanfora of Monticelli Bike and Davide Grigi of Alba Orobike Bike. The two athletes led the race, but in the last lap Davide Grigi accelerated, outdistancing the competition and wearing the first of the eight tricolor jerseys up for grabs. The bronze medal went to the brave Marco Soddu of the Bike Movement Trentinoerbe, despite a chain jump.

Around 10:10 99 second-year rookies passed through the course, the winner was Riccardo Fasoli (Speed Bike Rocks) followed by Roberto Pinna (Monticelli Bike) from Brescia and Walter Vaglio (Scuola cicl. Tugliese V. Nibali).

At 11:10, under the scorching sun, the 42 second year rookies competed, followed after a few minutes by 49 first year girls. Mariachiara Signorelli from Brescia, of Monticelli Bike, seemed destined for victory, but unfortunately an inconvenience on the last climb forced her to give way to the Venetian Nicole Righetto of Team Velociraptors, who deserved the tricolor jersey. On the podium also Cecilia Carzolio of Polisportiva Quiliano.

Among the female rookies of the first year, an excellent performance by Caterina Prataviera of Team Carbonhubo from Varese, who won the tricolor jersey with an advantage of 19 seconds on the Friulian Nicole Trampus (UC Caprivesi) and on the third step of the podium went the Beatrice Maifrè from Valtellina.

The challenge between the Allieve girls was spectacular. In the second year Allieve race, Elisa Ferri of Zhiraf Guerciotti Toscano crossed the finish line in 29 minutes and 22 seconds, conquering the fifth Italian jersey assigned on the day. Sabrina Rizzi from Friuli (Jam's Buja) and Sofia Bianchini (US Cassina de Bracchi) followed her on the podium.

Against the first year students, Elisa Bianchi from Brescia from Flanders Love Sportland dominated the competition, closing her race in Nave with a time of 28 minutes and 56 seconds. In second place was Elisa Giangrasso of the Orange Bike Team (Valle d'Aosta), followed on the podium by Valentina Bravi, from Emilia of the Gagabike Team.

In the afternoon, at 13 pm, it was the turn of the 30 first year students who faced a short lap and three complete laps of the course. Michele Falciani from Valtellina of the KTM Alchemist team showed great determination, conquering the tricolor jersey in 97 minutes and 47 seconds. In second and third place, respectively, Giuseppe Bruno (Ciclotour) and Simone Pesenti (Speed Bike Rocks).

Finally, at 14 pm, 45 second year students started an exciting battle for the Italian jersey. Elia Rial of the GagaBike Team from Piacenza demonstrated an extraordinary performance, concluding the race after 96 minutes and 44 seconds. He made a big difference on the climb, gaining a large lead over his competitors. He was followed on the podium by Filippo Massimino (Rock Bike Team) and Filippo Cavezzan (Conegliano Bike Team), author of a spectacular comeback.

The Italian Youth Mountain Bike Cross Country Championships ended with exciting challenges and extraordinary performances, demonstrating the importance of promoting youth cycling in Italy.
