4 stages with a different flavor to taste all the essences of enduro in mountain bike It is with great pleasure and also a bit of emotion that Superenduro announces the 2016 Circuit race calendar. It was not easy to choose between the different applications and the staff we wanted to take some time to personally visit the places proposed and carefully select the 4 places to take you to run this year!
This year there will be 4 appointments to mark on the calendar in 4 different Italian regions: Tuscany, Liguria, Trentino Alto Adige and Lombardy. The departure is set very early in the season: on March 20 MASSA MARITTIMA will open the dances of 2016. While much of Italy will still be struggling with the cold of winter, our Superendurists will be kissed by the first spring warmth, in the woods of holm oak and cork oak from the rolling Tuscan hills, guests of the fabulous Massa Vecchia Resort and the boys of The Trail Brothers.
The riders will compete on some of the most sinuous and flow-rich trails in the area: definitely the right way to start with the season, to loosen up the joints by pedaling fabulous transfers in the Maremma countryside and to make the desire to drive skyrocket. In this stage, it is important to know how to run the bike, take the right pace on the special stages and never lose the speed gained! #carrythespeed For the second stage, the circuit moves to the seashore, in Liguria, where the trails that plunge into the Mediterranean are more technical and harsh.
On May 8 it will be VARAZZE's turn. Vaze Free Time, promoter of the Varazze Outdoor project, has prepared a very varied route, where the ground and conditions change significantly with the altitude. It starts from beech and chestnut woods to reach the stony and disconnected lines in the Mediterranean scrub, certainly a nice injection of adrenaline. This time the choice of lines and technical driving skills will be decisive. #fullgas With the arrival of summer, the Superenduro moves to the mountains among the Dolomite massifs of Trentino Alto Adige in the company of the Fassa Bike guys. The breathtaking panorama will be the backdrop to the CANAZEI race on June 26th.
Here even the most fierce rider will transform at least for a few moments into the perfect tourist who, looking upwards, cannot help but admire what mother nature has given us but above all where his mountain bike takes him to run. Ribbons waving on virgin stretches, single track in high altitude meadows, larch undergrowth and roots, welcome to the high mountains! #enjoyenduro From the Dolomite passes on July 31st we will climb even higher, to reach the crests of the Ortles Cevedale National Park at 3.000 meters above sea level. The gradients of SANTA CATERINA VALFURVA will close the circuit and crown the 2016 Superenduro Champion.
As in the previous stage, also here in Santa Caterina Valfurva in the upper Valtellina the ski lifts will be used that will complement the traditional pedaled transfers. The goal is to take the race high, very high, where the glaciers have retreated a few decades ago and where streams now arise between blocks of rock as big as houses. Altitude, difference in altitude and endurance are the elements that in conditions like these can be decisive, but on the other hand we have reached the end of the season and you should all be trained right? #stayfocused
The new website will be online soon and all the info on regulations, format changes, registrations and more. Superenduro 2016 awaits you for this 2016 Circuit that we like to think of as a journey through the emotions, environments and main characteristics that make the enduro discipline so special.
