In Albstadt, the Chilean talent dominates the test: despite his advantage at the finish line was not very great, he gave the feeling of always having the race under control, proving to be ready for a possible transition between the Elite. After several days of rain and humidity, a timid sun appeared today which slightly dried the path. 150 athletes at the start and a lot of tussle. Already during the second lap, Vidaurre attacks and sets the best time of the entire race: the only one under 12 minutes! From then on, he dedicated himself to driving clean and keeping the lead.
Behind him, the fastest was the Brazilian Gustavo Xavier De Oliveira, who conquers an excellent 2nd place, beating the Swiss Dario Lillo.
Less brilliant day for the two Simone Avondetto and Janis Baumann. The two riders of the Wilier Triestina - Pirelli Factory Team faced the very tough Albstadt course with great determination, finishing respectively in 9th and 20th place.
"Very tough race today, especially the first part, I struggled a lot. then I saw that I was not holding the leading group and I went away with my pace to conquer important points which in the end came in 9th place. It was not what I wanted and expected, but already better than Brazil”- Simone Avondetto.
"PFor me it was a bad day today, it's a shame because Albstadt is a track that suits my characteristics, but I had back problems from the first lap which slowed me down. Now I look to Nove Mesto, the season is still long"- Janis Baumann.
