2026 Italian Enduro Championships: Vendemmia and Ellecosta triumph

The weekend dedicated to the Italian Enduro MTB Championship in Vidiciatico, in the territory of Lizzano in Belvedere, concluded with a truly remarkable outcome, seeing the Bolognese Apennines host the discipline's most important national event.

The event attracted a record turnout, with over 420 registered athletes from 18 Italian regions, representing more than 170 sports clubs, confirming the event's high technical value and national appeal.

Adding to the value of the weekend was an extraordinary crowd of spectators: an exceptional turnout of enthusiasts and fans literally invaded the special stages and the woods of Vidiciatico, transforming the event into a true sporting celebration and relentlessly cheering on all the riders along the route.

From an athletic and track perspective, the participants tested themselves on a highly selective 35-kilometer course, divided into four demanding special stages. Making the race weekend even more challenging and selective was the decision to complete all climbs entirely by pedal, both during the official reconnaissance on Saturday and on the day of the race, without the aid of mechanical vehicles or assisted climbs, thus reaffirming the most authentic and demanding value of enduro.

On a competitive level, the race awarded the Italian titles at the end of a very close battle.

In the top Open Men's category, victory went to Mirco Vendemmia of Ab Gravity after a thrilling, final-meter battle with his longtime rival. The victory was anything but a foregone conclusion and was earned with enormous tenacity, aided by Vendemmia's two falls on PS3 and PS4, which kept the crowd on the edge of their seats all the way to the finish line.

On the podium of the category Men's Open, behind the new Italian champion Mirco Harvest (AB Gravity Team, 23'49″42), placed second Thomas Francardo (Abetone Gravity Team ASD, 24'11″43), while the third step of the podium went to Matteo Bertha (KOM Gravity, 24'35″38).

in the category Women's Open she confirmed herself at the top Nadine Ellecosta (Abetone Gravity Team ASD, 27'46″54), who successfully defended the tricolor jersey at the end of a solid performance of consistency and determination. Behind him were classified Clarissa Carzolio (ASD Pedale Canellese, 29'35″55), came second, and Silvia I think (FederclubTrieste-Tecnoedile, 29'39″11), who completed the podium in third position.

Alongside the Open category challenges, the Youth and Junior competitive categories also delivered an extraordinarily important and prestigious chapter, providing a highly intense competitive spectacle. In a competition characterized by an exceptionally high youth participation—with over 130 promising young athletes competing, including both Beginners and Under 13s—the new Italian champions delivered top-notch technical and athletic performances: Emanuele Baglietto (ASD Pedale Canellese) graduated as Italian champion among the Junior Men (JU), while Emma Guglielmi (Ridewill-Bike Center Cimone) won the tricolour among the Junior Women (DJ). In the youth categories, splendid achievements for Federico Chivilò (Jam's Bike Team Buja) in the Male Students (AL), Matilde Bianchetti (Free Wheel Terni) among the Female Students (DA) e Martino Icardi (Vigor – Cycling Team) in the Men's Beginners (ES), a testament to the extraordinary vitality and bright future of the national enduro movement.

The competition in the amateur and Master categories was also of absolute importance, with the tricolor jerseys being awarded at the end of very close battles along the four special stages:

  • Elite Masters: Giacomo De Vito (TSI FREE BIKE ASD)
  • Elite Women Sport (EWS): Natalia Knezevic (Team German)
  • Master 1 (M1): Diego Gostoli (Mondobici)

An organizational report of enormous satisfaction, also underlined by the words of Matteo Baldissarri, circuit manager Senators Enduro Cup and the Senators Crew:

It's been a complex and tiring year, organizing the six stages of the Senators circuit and this grand finale of the Italian Championship, but all the hardship vanished on Sunday evening amid the congratulations we received from all the athletes and the overwhelming satisfaction in the eyes of the winners. Now we deserve some rest, even if we know we're not capable of it, and that's why we're already working to give you a fabulous 2027.

The event's success was made possible by the synergy between the Italian Cycling Federation, the FCI Emilia-Romagna Regional Committee, the local organizing committee Corno alle Scale Bike, the Senators Crew staff, and the Municipal Administration of Lizzano in Belvedere.

To crown the event, the awards ceremony and the presentation of the Italian national jerseys were attended by the Mayor of Lizzano in Belvedere, Barbara Franchi, and the President of the FCI Emilia-Romagna Regional Committee, Pier Luigi De Vitis, joined by the President of Corno alle Scale Bike, Dino Bonucchi, and Vice President Filippo Belletti. Special thanks go to the race judges, medical personnel, Civil Protection, law enforcement, and the numerous volunteers who ensured the course and traffic management, ensuring the high safety standards required for an event of this caliber.
