Asa Vermette (Frameworks Racing / TRP) emerged from the chaos with the victory and the lead in the Elite Men's overall standings. The last one off the track made a lightning-fast descent, inflicting four seconds on Max Alran (COMMENCAL / MUC OFF by Riding Addiction), already very fast, the same rider who last season had beaten Vermette in the general classification of the Junior World Cup Downhill UCI.
While the battle for the men's title remains wide open, Valentina Hell (Commencal Schwalbe by Les Orres) demonstrated why its leadership in the women's race is stronger than ever. The Austrian achieved a dream of a lifetime triumphing in Whistler and, in doing so, it became the third most successful athlete in the history of the UCI World Cup downhill female .
