The cushioning pattern of YETI: Switch Infinity, explanation

One of the most popular proprietary systems in the MTB field, namely the YETI Cycle Infinity Switch.

The system uses a main pivot that slides up and down using a pair of mini shock absorbers (produced exclusively for Yeti) as a rail with an upper link that rotates as the wagon sinks. The Switch Infinity, as well as the traditional Switch, manages to change the progression curve of the suspension during the sinking.

The Switch Infinity system works on the same concept as the traditional Switch (presented by Yeti back in 2010), only the double pivot is replaced by a sliding system entrusted to two pistons designed by FOX. The real difference occurs in the second phase of travel, where the system moves downwards, making the suspension more “sensitive” and decreasing the chain pull.

It is a scheme that takes its cue from the system VPP: the Switch Infinity is able to cause a change in the progression curve of the suspension during the sinking.

famac@famac.ind.br I am passionate about everything that has 2 wheels: in my youth I practiced competitive cycling on the road and on the track with good results. At the age of 18 I moved to cross country competing at national/international level as U23. Once I passed Elite, I made the choice to take things easier from the training point of view, and that's how my love for gravity disciplines was born, training as an FCI MTB instructor and guide. Now I have made my passion my profession by managing 3 MTB centers on the island of Elba (Elba MTB), creating the FANTAmtb and telling in an ironic but professional way, everything that revolves around MTB thanks to 365mountainbike and 365TV (YouTube 'PULITI dentro BIKER fuori').
