Simone Avondetto is part of Team Wilier Pirelli and is one of the blue hopes for the U23 XC World Championships which will take place in Les Gets (France) in August.
Simone raced with Team Silmax in the youth categories and then passed the Trek Pirelli (now Wilier Pirelli). Already in the youth categories he made himself known, with excellent results among the Juniors: already in the first year of the category he won the stage of Courmayer at the Internazionali d'Italia. In the 2nd year there is the leap in quality, with the victory of 2 stages at the Internazionali (Alpago and San Martino), to then conquer the national XC championship and touch the success at the European Championships in Graz (Austria), where it closes at 2 Th place.

Among the U23s he proved to be a rider with an excellent engine and the possibility of being able to do something among the greats: from 1st year U23 (2019) he is already 3rd in the Italian XCOs and 6th in the Europeans. He was chosen as the U23 representative in the world relay where Italy won 4th place.

In 2020, a year devastated by covid, he did not lose his concentration and at the world championships he won an excellent 4th place. This year already shows up with a victory at Verona MTB International at the beginning of the year, after having almost won the World Cup in Snowshoe in 2021 and having to settle for 2nd place at the nationals behind Juri Zanotti, another talent Elite passed to the court of Julien Absalon.

This year at the U23 World Cup we will have 2 other talents among the contenders for the title, namely Filippo Fontana ed Andreas Vittone. Competition will be fierce (martin vidaurre and Luca Schatti in the first place) but ours are there. Good luck for a great season.
