Rustick's Journal # 4: Good Day 1

1. Mountain bike event with enthusiasts and exhibition stands in a crowded square.
2. Portrait of participants and visitors during a mountain bike event in the city.

I couldn't wait to put the number back on the bike and challenge the stopwatch to experience the adrenaline that only a downhill race can give.

I woke up "very excited" with the desire to spend a beautiful day trying to make the most of this opportunity, so out of bed, bread and jam, Gopro on the helmet and off to the paddock, a good coffee and in the blink of an eye it's it's time to leave for the first special stage.

FIRST SPECIAL TEST

The first special uphill stage was a lot of fun to ride, I only regret not having pushed harder for fear of "bursting" ... honestly I never thought I'd have fun climbing up and turning the bike in the uphill hairpins, rocks and feel that the more power I impressed on the pedals, the more the engine "revs" the more I "throttled! .. I lived five minutes in which I felt very good with my heart and breath well out of bounds, unfortunately my legs did not respond as I wanted ... Few excuses in this discipline if I want to do some good races in the future, I will have to spend more time training with the racing bike ... I understand that after these words if you are not from the environment you will find it hard to understand, the commonplace is that in e_bike you do not you have a hard time, but that's the way it is in the races, special for pure "hillclimb" and special to ride like the classic traditional enduro.

Second special

The second special stage of the day was my favorite because it had all the features I love to find in a downhill.
It started with a practically straight path in which very high speeds were reached on an "unstable unstable" ground continuing in a Spanish pine forest adopting a very clean driving style facing an "alternatively flow" single track that like any pine forest worthy of the name presented roots on which to “float”, which means, to drive lightly trying to jump to avoid stones and roots. Also during this test I really liked the sensation of relaunching the bike out of the curves and feeling the engine pushing; among other things it was also the special in which I got my best time!

THIRD SPECIAL

the most technical with steep and slow sections on "pissed" rocks in the initial stages, with passages that have put several riders in crisis including myself, in fact I managed to do the rustication of the day by overturning ... The mistake was overestimating myself and not consider that I do not have an enduro bike, but a trail bike that I have been using since Thursday; so when I arrived at a very steep point of the route I found a rock that I could jump or walk the chicken line ... Well I chose to jump, but when I landed my front closed up ... all experience for the next race which I will try to get there with the right equipment as well as more training!

THE FOURTH AND THE FIFTH

The last two specials of the day were very similar, short but intense with steep rocky sections and very tight curves in which I enjoyed turning the bike by performing quite ignorant but effective Nos Presses! I traveled 90% of them and took the skin home.

The RUSTICK ATHLETE

I am very happy with my performance, being thirteenth in my debut as an "athlete" in this discipline with a bike that I have known for just three days means that I am on track ...

Tomorrow I will give 110% to enter the top 10 of the overall ranking!

THE ADVENTURER RUSTICK

I am very happy to be present at an international event in the Sierra Nevada with amazing trails, fabulous views with wild nature as well as meeting new people with habits and cultures different from mine! The siesta, the cerveza, a hora ... which then becomes a day ... great Spaniards relaxed nu tengu prublema

?

I consider myself a very lucky rider thinking that in recent years I have had the opportunity to discover Europe, a small part of Africa and now the south of Spain, travel hundreds of thousands of km and never get enough, every time I always have desire to take, discover and give the best in all the projects I join!

THE ITALIAN TEAM

Every now and then we also need healthy patriotism, if we are often good at talking back and complaining, here in Granada there is a nice serene atmosphere among the Italian representatives and moreover we have almost occupied the entire top 10, with Garibbo, Martinelli, Ossati, Righi, Zanchi and in the master categories Cico, Davide, Gigi from Brescia and Alberto Segala
We are simply ahead of the Spaniards, having already in Italy for the past three years, a circuit started in this discipline and consequently we have guys who have become e_enduro specialists, who will also be able to do well in the international field in the electrical world that is in full expansion and development

PROJECTED IMPACT

Satisfied and amused, I rest hoping to recover some positions tomorrow always with joy and the desire to reach the finish line with a smile

Buena noces ...
