The articulated wishbone suspension with Horst Link has been used a lot, and brought to everyone's lips, by Specialized with its FSR. Later it was used by many brands, just to name a couple: Norco, Transition, Rocky Mountain, Mongoose.
Basically, the rear axle is located on the chainstays, near the wheel axle.

It is called Horst because it was invented and patented by Horst Leitner, an Austrian engineer who was personally involved in motocross competitions. This is one of the most adopted kinematics ever and in 1993 Specialized acquired the exclusive use of the system by acquiring the patent with all rights from Leitner. But then history saw many brands use practically the same system with slight modifications that circumvented the patent.
