After the great results of this 2021 we interviewed Mirco Vendemmia, a young promise of international enduro. The young Italian rider managed to enter the absolute top 20, a respectable result. If we add to this element also the young rider, this can undoubtedly be an excellent launching pad for his career. We met him by phone to find out about his impressions and exchange some general considerations with him.

365) Hi Mirco, how are you? Season meant that just ended, I think you can be satisfied

Mirco) Hi Marco, all right thanks. The season that has just ended has certainly been very intense and being able to finish it in the absolute top 20 is an unexpected result. I was expecting some good performances, but I would not have imagined reaching that high, also because during the year I had some physical problems that limited me a bit in training and performance.

365) What problems did you have?

Mirco) Before Canazei I had mononucleosis for the second time (very rare event ed) and then I competed in precarious physical conditions, some days when I felt at the top, others instead my energies were less. After La Thuile I had to stop completely for two weeks so that my body could regain its strength.

365) For a high-level athlete such a situation is certainly limiting, I guess you had to do a great head job to overcome the physical limits

Mirco) Yes, when energy is low, concentration plays a fundamental role.

365) Net of the health problems you have had, what are the aspects on which you feel you need to improve further?

Mirco) Certainly my physicality needs to improve, I know I have good technique and that I can drive fast, but there is still a lot of work to be done on athletic skills, and I also think that there will also be improvement in the general management of the race, a fundamental element. in the enduro.

365) What are your favorite workouts?

Mirco) I'm lucky enough to be a guy who really likes to play sports; so, if it were up to me, I would never stop moving. I know scheduling is important, so sometimes I have to try to hold back. In general, I couldn't do without work on the bike and with BMX, two types of training that I think are very useful for enduro. With the bike you get used to the speed and physicality of riding a heavier vehicle.

365) Who is Mirco Vendemmia outside the competition fields'

Mirco) As I told you it was for me I would play sports all day. In general, I think I'm a normal person, who loves traveling besides sport, two elements that by competing I can completely satisfy.

365) Who are your friends, do you have a group linked to this world or even friends outside the sector?

Mirco) Now I live in Finale and here my friendships are linked to the world of bicycles, while at my house they are almost all out of the sector

365) I imagine that after these results you will have received some proposals from great teams, where will we see Mirco next season?

Mirco) I've been approached by some important teams, but for now it's all top secret

365) Then we will try to browse to find some info, for now thanks for the time you have dedicated to us and see you soon

Mirco) thanks to you
